TWoW Prologue Info

Yeah, i had Siddig down as a Red Viper candidate, have liked him for a while.

I love McShane, but no role jumps out at me for him; either too small or not a great fit. I hoped McKidd would be JonCon, but doesn't look like that's happening. Lastly, I hope Martin Czokas makes an appearance. Basically I seem to have recast Kingdom of Heaven.

It would appear you have, wouldn't that make you know who Rhaegar in a flashback?

I think CR would be en route.

Nah it's way south of the Crag that's why Robb got to it before the rock. It will probably be a typical Prologue, it sets up the feel of the book or some idea that Martin wants to express. It should be snowing, maybe it's dark, to dark for to long.

Lol, well I have Neeson down as Jon Arryn in my imagination, but Bloom...KoH works much better in Dorector's Cut, but it's still something of a donut. Bloom just doesn't have the presence to carry it...not so much because he's especially bad, he's just surrounded by people who are especially good at the kinds of roles they're plAying.

As for Rhaegar, best I've come up with is Ian Somerhalder, but he often looks a bit too creepy.

That range of hills/mountains? that cuts off that Crag/Banefort shelf IMO gets in the way unless you're into some heavy duty climbing; which I think works for a surprise invasion more than an escort, especially with BwB about. I think they stick to main routes, but then the maps are never quite accurate so who knows?

I could totally see Ian Somerhalder as Rheagar with silvery hair.

But onto the prologue...I would also like to see the Westerosi version of Joan Crawford hanging from a limb with Jeyne silently praying 'thank you' to the Gods.

Even the director's cut of KoH didn't work for me although the movie had the potential to be epic. Neeson would be awesome on the show but he's one of the biggest stars at the moment and no way he's doing TV, not yet anyway.

I hope so but I doubt it will come out before I finish Highschool.... and I'm a freshman

I'm slightly disturbed that a fourteen-year-old is reading aSoIaF. Scratch that, I'm slightly disturbed that a fourteen-year-old is reading half the stuff that written on this forum. especially by me.

Interesting. I wondered if we would be seeing her again. I hope the POV will be her mother because the prologue POV always dies.

I second this. She's Mrs. Norris-level awful.

This and the announcement of

Alexander Siggid

were the only good things we got from CC.

A release date would have made me happier.... :wideeyed: but, yeah, I'm a little bummed, since it's more or less confirmed at this point that they're cutting my favourite character. But I suppose I should be grateful since they'd probably just turn her into Ms. Fanservice.

You know, between this, Indira Varma's cartoon accent, Jaime being a rapist, the stupid character design of the CotF, the entire character of Shae, and what they did to the Thenns, I think I might be done with the show. It's just too stressful people.

That's Obara? Doran is a bit thinner but the actors decent so I am ok with that. I was hoping for Ian McShane but the part is probably to small for him.

Too small? Ian McShane is a god and I'm still pissed about what NBC did to Kings, but GoT is THE show right now.

I don't know if it was mentioned but Jeyne was not going to Casterly Rock she was going to the Crag to be with her father. She is with Forley Prester who is escorting her he has been in 4 books. Her brother Raynald jumped into the river during the Red Wedding after freeing Grey Wind and is presumed dead but nobody ever found his body.

I'm confused. The last thing I can remember about Jeyne Westerling is this from Chapter 44-AFFC:

When Edmure and the Westerlings departed, four hundred men rode with them; Jaime had doubled the escort again at the last moment. He rode with them a few miles, to talk with Ser Forley Prester. Though he bore a bull's head upon his surcoat and horns upon his helm, Ser Forley could not have been less bovine. He was a short, spare, hard-bitten man. With his pinched nose, bald pate, and grizzled brown beard, he looked more like an innkeep than a knight. "We don't know where the Blackfish is," Jaime reminded him, "but if he can cut Edmure free, he will."

"That will not happen, my lord." Like most innkeeps, Ser Forley was no man's fool. "Scouts and outriders will screen our march, and we'll fortify our camps by night. I have picked ten men to stay with Tully day and night, my best longbowmen. If he should ride so muh as a foot off the road, they will loose so many shafts at him that his own mother would take him for a goose."

"Good." Jaime would as lief have Tully reach Casterly Rock safely, but better dead than fled. "Best keep some archers near Lord Westerling's daughter as well."

Ser Forley seemed taken aback. "Gawen's girl? She's -"

"-the Young Wolf's widow," Jaime finished, "and twice as dangerous as Edmure if she were ever to escape us."

"As you say, my lord. She will be watched."

This doesn't sound to me like they are going to let Jeyne Westerling go home to her father anytime soon. Where did you get this other information?

I don't know if the POV would be Blackfish's but I bet that he will be seen near her. In fact, I'm not really convinced by the pregnant Jeyne theory but I'm convinced that the Blackfish, just like Jaime, knew how dangerous Jeyne could be and he made plans. Otherwise, the Blackfish wouldn't really escape for nothing, would he? What can he achieve alone? What can he achieve armed with Robb's widow? He wasn't a stupid man, so that's why I'm proposing that the Blackfish wants to marry Jeyne to a legitimised Jon - it's a lethal combination. Besides, marrying the brother is what Cat did as well.

My question is where exactly will this POV take place? I remember hearing something about casterly rock as a location

Assuming we're not being punked and this is the real Jeyne Westerling and she's really where she's supposed to be, then the convoy is probably en route to Casterly Rock, yeah. Whether it'll be at the actual castle (i.e. they've already arrived) or on the way (i.e. it's probably a jailbreak situation by the Blackfish, the Brotherhood or some combination thereof) is TBD.

ETA: Whatever happens, the WoW prologue will be where the Jeyne Westerling theories live or die. Either it opens where she's at Casterly Rock or on the way to Casterly Rock, or she's not in the convoy and is on the run with Brynden or something.

Well I can't say I have a list of actors or can name many. I thought Norton stole ever scene he was in KoH. I can't name a Rhaegar or anything, I always thought Mads Mikkelsen would be a great Aegon the Conqueror, but I doubt we ever see that but I could put him in a lot of Targaryen rolls though he already has a show.

If I am not mistaken the Prologues tend to have a reoccurring theme.

Thrones, north of the wall, cold and the Others.

Kings. Dragonstone, red comet, red priestess, mention of the White Raven

Sword: North of the wall the Wight's attack the fist. Again cold.

Crows. First word in the Chapter is Dragon, Dragons and Targaryens are the subject a lot of the time. Plus the gold Dragon. White Raven Mentioned again. The Symbol of old town is a giant Lighthouse.

Dance. Pretty sure we are north of the wall again, wargs and Wights. Cold again.

Winds, by rights we should get something fire related, doesn't have to be a fire or a dragon just talk and symbolism around primary fire symbolism. Or maybe they can't get a fire started or something. I don't know.

Blackfish only got away the day before they left I think so not sure how he would manage to rally a bunch of men to enter the West, the pass is guarded by the Tooth, and Ashemark is right there as well. I would guess they make it to the Crag there are some things that need addressing. Probably a lot of talk about Kevan' death, maybe some Aegon talk, that may be a big subject given the invasion. Of course the Spicers need to be addressed, they betrayed Robb.

It could also follow the theory that Jeyne is with Blackfish and they are hiding out some place. Either way the POV is dead.

Crows 44. Gawen negotiated the release of his family, but his wife and Castilian who are the Spicers betrayed Robb and sold him out, they also are said to have been giving Jeyne a potion to keep her from getting pregnant. Edmure and his wife are being sent to the Rock. The Westerling' are returning to the Crag, the Crag is on the way to the rock.

The Deal has Jeyne not being allowed to marry for two years, if she tries to escape she is to be killed.

Given the prologues contain and action sequence and at least one death. Either it is the Blackfish escape flashback where he takes the "real" Jeyne or there is an attack on her escorts taking them to the Crag. Jaimed wanted her guard doubled.
