Metal Thread Vol. VIII -- The Angry Red Planet

Xray the Enforcer

Recommended Posts

I started banging my head in the mid 70s to the music my older uncles listened to

like diamond head, judas priest and motorhead, etc

later during the 80s i got more speed death metal happy with anthrax, yes they count, venom, megadeath

here is a group I really loved back in the day

Very few people know about Diamond Head these days, and it's a goddamned shame. (I am also on the older end of the scale in this thread -- started listening to metal in '80 or so, thanks to the older kids in the neighborhood.)

Lightning to the Nations! \m/

(apologies for that triple-post.)

Too true, I spoke to a dude at a used record store recently about trying to get a copy of Canterbury, Rocksniffer is a big Elric fan so I thought he would enjoy Knight of Swords, etc., anyway dude looks at me stupidly and says "you must be confused no such group". So I just walked out , went home, got Borrowed Time, brought it back and told idiot he needed to go back to Micky D's, since obviously flipping fucking burgers was all he was good for. What an asshat.

Here is a nugget just for you X-ray

Enjoy

Holy shit. That's not even an elitist going all "they never recorded an album after Borrowed Time*" but some straight-up tomfoolery.

*just like there's only one Highlander film

New announcement from MDF a few days ago and it's looking pretty sick. Who am I kidding? I'd go for Haemorrhage alone, but now there's Craft, Grave Miasma, Impaled Nazarene, Exciter (they destroyed at DotO in March), Hail of Bullets, and so many others.

Some beautiful experimental Black Metal if anyone is interested. Also has some orchestral passages, but is not your typical boring symphonic metal.

That was the first album I ever bought on BandCamp and yes, it is incredible.

Speaking of BandCamp, the new Amiensus is killer. My album of the year thus far.
