(Book Spoilers) Rumored tile is "Winter" = finally a bleak ending to a season

Recommended Posts

Agreed. She might be arrested at end of 7, be in dungeons for 8, walk in 9, and fall-out of walk in 10.

I really hope the walk is in 9. I want to see the aftermath too, in 10.

I guess she'll be arrested at the end of 507, indeed, it may (should) even be the last scene of the episode.

Then I agree with you, Sept's dungeons in 508 but I dont think she'll show up in 509. The Walk and its aftermath will be in 510 I'd guess.

Bronn will die. He will confess to Jamie that his sister is a bitch who slept with lancel and was only using him and that the only person who cares about him is his brother Tyrion, and conclude this is shit way to die. I don't think Jamie is going to receive any letter from Cersei they might cut that out because Jamie being in Dorne is supposedly a secret so Cersei won't call out to him when he is supposedly rescuing Myrcella. I think Jamie might talk with Doran and he is going to be part of the Dornish plan and abandon the lannister cause. Myrcella might die.

Cersei will finish walk of shame. She will be awaiting her trial by combat that will take place next season. Tyrells are back in control. Kevan is back in town and working with Olenna.

Arya will kill Meryn Trant. Jacquen Hgar might find out about her killing for revenge and she might be in trouble with the FM for not following the rules.

Sansa and Theon jump off the wall and run into Briennne and Pod. Ramsay has gone to find out about Stannis maybe on a secret mission, but he returns back to WF to learn from Roose that Sansa and Theon have escaped. Ramsay will take out his rage by murdering Myranda and will vow to get his lost toys back. Stannis is still on a holding pattern up North and has not attacked winterfell just yet.

Jon is stabbed after he brings the wildlings back to castle black. He is gravely injured but his consciousness is going to slip into Ghost as his body heals from all the wounds. Olly will be imprisoned for attacking the lord commander. Thorne will temporarily take over till Jon recovers. Aemon Targ dies rest his noble soul. Sam will be sent to Oldetown to become a maester to take up aemon's place by Jon before he leaves for Hardhome.

Jorah and Tyrion are rescued but it is hard to predict how they can control the armies and fight the Harpies because Dany is queen and no other authority will be recognized in Mereen without Dany's order. So I have a feeling Dany won't ride off just yet, she will authorize Jorah control of her soldiers and command that Jorah will be in charge in her absence. Dany will fly off into the sky without meeting Tyrion. Tyrion will be rescued from slavery by Jorah, Tyrion will talk to Jorah and Jorah will see Tyrion's worth and he will let Tyrion join the counsel and they will both deal with Mereen political problem till dany returns.

I generally agree with these predictions. However, I think Aemon will die and Sam will leave for Oldtown before Jon's Ceasar moment.

As long as we get a montage of snow starting to fall all over Westeros and where the different characters are, reminiscent of the comet in season two, they can call the episode whatever they want.

Like the thinking behind all of these ideas - and they make the most sense. Bravo.

Thoughts on Stannis and his situation? I think he'll die, sadly, but hope it's after he's smashed the Boltons. Really hope the Boltons die - they really aren't adding anything on any platform imo. I think Theon will die killing Ramsey (or trying to).

Up to date on the books but god knows which way it'll go now.

I agree with almost everything you said but in two points:

1) Jaime will come into the realization that Cersei is a lying bitch but not that way. Jaime will see that Myrcella has her lion necklace with her and realize that Cersei has manipulated him into this mission. I admit this is noy my idea but I like it and it sounds plausible as the Sand Snakes/Ellaria haven't mentioned the threat to Cersei at all since they showed up.

2. Dany will definitely fly in E9 and because there's no leader left after Dany goes, Jorah with the help of Tyrion will kill/arrest Hizdahr and take whatever control of the city they can and prepare for a battle next season. Dany will have the last scene of the season with Drogon and a Khalasar bowing down to Dany in the Dothraki Sea.

I have very little idea what will happen in the finale, since we have no idea how far into The Winds of Winter D&D are willing to go. Without knowing if they'll delve into the Battle of Winterfell, the Battle of Meereen, or what will become of Sansa and Theon, it's hard to guess how bleak the finale will be. That being said, on a broad level, I don't think the finale will be, categorically, bleak. This has already been a fairly dark season with very few glimmers of hope- Sansa's rape, Barristan's death, Jorah catching greyscale, etc.- so I think a relentlessly bleak finale will do them no service in building anticipation for season 6, when they really get to take control over the story.

I know for me personally, I found the ending of A Dance With Dragons/A Feast for Crows to be surprisingly hopeful, even with the Night's Watch betrayal and the potential destruction of Stannis' army. Seeing Jaime finally turn his back on Cersei, Doran reveal his master plan, Aegon begin storming Westeros, and Varys finally break the reign of Lannister rule in King's Landing, sent me out on a positive, rabid high. Any of those scenes, or perhaps the inclusion of The North Remembers or the reveal of Stoneheart, will show viewers that the show is more than just misery porn, that Murphy's Law is not the only guiding principle in the narrative, and that they need to keep watching because there is the slightest hope that the heroes can actually, one day, succeed in this story.

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but Benjen is cast for episode 10. I have heard that IMDb can be inaccurate at times, but that throws a wrench into things. I don't know if anyone has mentioned that here yet, because I have not read through the comments.

If he does show up, I wonder if he comes in at the "For the Watch" scene.

idmb, yes, Benjen Stark. The Ghost in Winterfell?

Beat me to it hahaha.

Perhaps. Or if we go back to the scene in DwD, and Jon does not feel the forth.... I strongly believe Ghost is on scene and intervenes, could Benjen perhaps intervene?

Why would Benjen be in Winterfell, it seems that he would head to CB first.

Sansa may need help in Winterfell and what an entrance it would be if she is in a desperate situation and her tough as nails uncle can save her. This makes me happy with possibilites. Then again, Jon or maybe Benjen gets to the cave with Bran, who knows. It will sure be good to see him, unless he is a wyte walker. that would suck or Coldhands?

I would have to believe that if Martin turned Benjen into a wight/WW that he would have done that early on, and at the Fist the NW would have seen him. I hope anyway.

That would be pretty great if they weaved him into Sansa's arc. Either way I hope this is one time where imdb doesn't make a mistake.

I would expect Benjen in Hardhome with the Wights/White Walkers/Wildlings. Maybe he was imprisoned because he was a Stark. He might get back somehow to Castle Black. I think Benjen could be important for R+L=J.

trailer seems to show her right about to show off a bit too much to Margaery and the High Sparrow will grab her as well.
