NFL 2015 Week Two: 16 teams still have hope

Where is Dub when you need him?

Dallas traded for Brice Butler to step in and help the receiving corps during Dez Bryant's absence. Oakland will get a fifth round pick if he is on the Cowboy's roster for six games or more? As I haven't spent a lot of time watching the Raiders in the last couple of years, I need an Oakland fan to interject.

I haven't seen him either, but that sounds like an awful trade for the Raiders. The Cowboys can just rent and then cut him in 5 weeks, leaving Oakland with nothing.

Well last week he wasn't even active for the Raiders game, and they get a 5th round pick for someone they didn't even dress. Not an all is lost situation.

They only get it if he plays after week 6.

Good trade for both sides, if he works out and plays well, Dallas gets a decent WR and Oakland a draft pick, if he doesnt, Dallas loses nothing and Oakland only loses a player they didn't want anyways.

The NFL, which by Goodell's own story made no effort whatsoever to try to get the elevator footage of Ray Rice punching his fiancee, and indeed could never have imagined that a casino would have a camera in an elevator, apparently went through great lengths to get hold of the photos of the damage Greg Hardy did to his girlfriend, and then made sure no one else could get them:

 The NFL reinstates the bagmen...

/It's almost like it never happened

Except for the million dollar fine and missing first and fourth round picks, sure.

But wait, does the fact that the team had to apply to reinstate these guys mean Goodell was lying when he denied that the league had asked the Patriots to suspend them?

Err, by "made sure no one else could get" the pictures do you mean agree to a Protective Order / Non-disclosure Agreement? If so, that's ridiculously common and the NFL would not have received the photos otherwise. Shouldn't we be applauding the NFL for pursuing this matter as far as it did, so that Hardy could be punished for domestic abuse? The NFL could have stopped once the DA refused to turnover the documents initially. Also, I'm not sure why news organizations couldn't make similar demands of the DA's office as the NFL and litigate the matter in court to make the images publicly available.

I don't really see what the NFL did wrong here.

The only reason your team didn't appeal those was because your owner is a Goodell apologist.

Apparently, Tommy is just paying back a good deed...

That's why Trump and Brady are buds. Tommy is a winner. In fact, under Tommy's administration there is so much winning... You get tired of all the winning. Just like Trump.
