Football - Never Say Die!

Lots of late goals today.  So many players returning from international games means fatigue and disruption affecting quality but the stronger teams (with more international players) eventually seized back the initiative.

Liverpool did well to win after a dire first half.  With three starting defenders missing and an exhausted #10 starting at #6, I don’t know why we  played the formation tailored to TAA when he is absent.  Second half was much better and deserved the win.  Szoboszlai is perhaps our most consistent in-form outfield player so far.  Lots of threat across our attack and plenty of depth on the bench atm, even with VVD and TAA unavailable.

Between red cards and early goals conceded, it feels like Liverpool have battled from behind in almost every match so far.  They’re making it work but would be better to control games from the start and score early to negate parked buses — that’s what propelled the quadruple chase two seasons ago.
