Oscars 2024: The Zone of BARBENHEIMER (LIVE)

Can't make any predictions this year but it sounds like Oppenheimer is going to clean house. It was good, but I didn't find it to be special. My frustration is it's felt like a lot of the nominated movies are hard to access if you didn't see them in the theater (and IMO basically none of them needed to be seen that way, a nice home step up would be good enough for all of them as far as I can tell). Oh well, hoping for some weird upsets.

Poor Things is having a night so far.

Quite right. Amazing piece of cinema.

Me 'n Chops watched it last week. As the credits rolled, I told him it was going to clean up tonight.

Glad Nolan won but Oppenheimer is far from his best film….

And The Departed is far from Scorsese’s best, but that’s not really how these things work.

Anyway, I loved Poor Things (and Emma), but I’m bummed for Lily Gladstone. Such an understated performance, with only about an hour of screen time was always going to be tough for her though.
