Peadar
Having a veeery frustrating day. Some quick therapy included the buying of The Long Price by Daniel Abraham. I also saw a copy of "The Name of the Wind" in the wild for the first time... May buy that the next time I have a bad day...
Marcelo Rebelo Firqoralas
I just sent out an order to my favourite crack dealer, err... I mean The Book Depository. The Solitudes by John Crowley (The first part of the Aegypt quartet, finally back in print. Overlook Press will publish the entire sequence in paperback over the next year.) Lavondyss & Mythago Wood: The Mythago Cycle, volume 1 by Robert Holdstock (We're going to read Mythago Wood in my book circle next month.) The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Blue Bear by Walter Moers (A comic fantasy/weird shit novel by some German guy. I've heard good things about it and it's been on my to-buy list forever.) TheHoundRules
I just got World Without End by Ken Follet. I usually do not like reading hardback books, but I could not wait for paperback. I have really been looking forward to this book. Plus it was only $18 at BJ's.
Amras
I hit the bookstores in London and came away with too many books (as predicted). "The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters" by G. W. Dahlquist (signed, hardcover, first edition). "The Modern World" by Steph Swainston (signert hardcover first edition) "The Last Wish" by Andrej Sapkowski (first edition hardcover) "Anansi Boys" by Neil Gaiman (signed hardcover, YAY!!!) "Soon I Will Be Invincible" by Austin Grossman (hardcover, first edition) "The Wasp Factory" by Ian Banks (pb) "The Reality Dysfunction" by Peter F. Hamilton (signed pb) "Altered Carbon" by Richard Morgan (signed pb) "The First Book of Lankhmar" by Fritz Leiber (fantasy masterworks, pb) "Something Wicked This Way Comes" by Ray Bradbury (fantasy masterworks, pb) A lot of coolness to be found there, I think. Note that I've already read the Gaiman book - I just wanted a signed hardcover edition of it.
