KARMA can be fun! Kris Jenkins is now out for the season with a torn ligament in his knee. :P

On this topic, I'm surprised that more ppl aren't up in arms about this MEXICAN sports reporter coming to our country and taking Erin Andrew's job as hottest reporter!!!! :P

It's sort of the same concept as people who are against all homosexuality...... Except lesbian porn.

Jesus Creeping Shit, FLOW, you're so full of Ignorance Fail again, it's like you can't wait to hop in on the troglodyte side of an issue so you don't even want to bother to read about what actually fucking went on.

No. If you watched the interview, she's the one who tweeted about it. And now, she's trying to claim that she's not the one who made a big deal of it.

This is so transparent it's ridiculous. She's the hottest sports reporter in Mexico, aiming to be the hottest sports reporter in the U.S. She, and probably her bosses, knew exactly what would happen when she went in there, and did this deliberately.

I'd be interesting to know what the professional female sports reporters really think of this little gimmick.

- She tweeted that she was "dying of embarassment" or something. It was the other media personnel in the room who started to object on her behalf.

- Coaches, including the head coach himself, took part in the harassment by starting a fake pass-catching drill where they'd run into her or near her. That's the most salient part of this incident to me -- that the fucking head coach of a professional football franchise actually instigated this crap. And yes, my reaction to this fact is colored by the fact that he coaches the fucking Jets.

- She was wearing tight jeans and a white blouse. That's the shittiest stripper outfit I've ever heard of.

- She was there doing an interview with Mark Sanchez. As far as I can tell, she wasn't squeezing his biceps or flashing him during the interview. Her past behavior does not excuse the harassment at this time.

Ignorant, sexist and bigoted is no way to go through life, son.

I'm glad this Ines Sainz issue came up in this thread because I didn't want to threadjack the NFL thread about it.

Anyway, back to national politics... I'm not even going to bother to add my own commentary about this quote on stem-cell research from Christine O'Donnell:

"They are -- they are doing that here in the United States. American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains. So they're already into this experiment."

This is feeling more and more like the unveiling of Palin as McCain's running mate in 2008. A total avalanche of revelations about how bugfuck crazy and dumb she is, each one more incredible and head-slappy than the last.

I just keep hearing a little voice in my head when I'm asked to accept that a major American political party nominated this kind of dingbat: "Go ahead, pull the other one, it's got bells on."

"So what do you want to do tonight, Sarah?"

"Same thing we do every night, Christine...TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"

:lmao:

There is a Photoshop project in this.

Nope, sorry TP. No matter what Trebla comes up with, O'Donnell will always be funnier:

Fox News, June 26, 2000:

(About a Gay Pride parade in NYC)

O'DONNELL: But let me tell you something! They -- homosexuals' special rights groups can get away with so much more than nobody else can!

COLMES: Well, what are they getting away with here, Christine? Tell me what you're seeing...

O'DONNELL: They're getting away with nudity!

FAY: Oh, right.

O'DONNELL: They're getting away with nudity! They're getting away with lasciviousness! They're getting away with perversion!

FAY: Oh, Christine...

O'DONNELL: They're getting away with blasphemy!

MSNBC, Scarborough's show, 11/13/2002:

NIES: I'm not concerned that they're having sex. And I don't think that anybody on this panel is condoning that it's OK.

The problem is, is they're not properly educated of the consequences of having sex at a young age. That's the issue. That's what we need to talk about. I mean, I'm out on the road at colleges and high schools all across the country. I'm on tour right now, "Reality Bar Crawl." I'm speaking to kids. I'm at high schools. I'm at colleges. And I know what they're talking about, because they're talking about it to me.

(CROSSTALK)

O'DONNELL: So, Eric, what do you tell them? Do you tell them safe sex?

(CROSSTALK)

NIES: Hold on. I'll tell you what I tell them.

O'DONNELL: Do you tell them use birth control?

(CROSSTALK)

NIES: Yes, I tell them to have safe sex. I tell them to be careful. You have to wear a condom. You have to protect yourself when you're going to have sex, because they're having it anyway.

(CROSSTALK)

NIES: There's nothing that you or me can do about it.

(CROSSTALK)

O'DONNELL: The sad reality is -- yes, there is something you can do about it. And the sad reality, to tell them slap on a condom is not

(CROSSTALK)

NIES: You're going to stop the whole country from having sex?

O'DONNELL: Yes.

Yeah, I didn't mean anything by it. I certainly didn't mean that her femaleness was a weakness. What would you have thought if I'd written the exact same thing but substituted "girl" for "lady?" Or if I'd written about Joe Miller instead and called him "this Joe Miller guy?"

Guy, dude, lady, woman, or man would have all been fine as they usually are about adults. A lot of times people will use "girl"as an attack on a woman's femaleness, i.e. childlike/less than an adult. Same thing with boy.

Nope, sorry TP. No matter what Trebla comes up with, O'Donnell will always be funnier:

Have we even gotten to the "lying to Hitler about Jews" exchange from Politically Incorrect a few years ago?

Long before Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell rocked the Delaware GOP by upending establishment favorite Mike Castle, she founded a group named the Savior's Alliance for Lifting the Truth (SALT). SALT focuses on promoting Christian morality among Generation X and places particular emphasis on always telling the truth. In 1998, while O'Donnell was a guest on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, she elaborated on this point, arguing that "telling the truth is always the right thing to do, I believe, and that's what always gets you out of a situation."

Comedian Eddie Izzard pressed her on just how far she would take her anti-lying beliefs. Izzard asked O'Donnell whether or not she would lie to Nazis who showed up at her door during WWII and demanded to know if she were hiding any Jewish people in her house. O'Donnell refused to even entertain the notion of concealing the truth from Nazis in that scenario because "you never have to practice deception":

O'DONNELL: A lie, whether it be a lie or an exaggeration, is disrespect to whoever you're exaggerating or lying to, because it's not respecting reality.

MAHER: Quite the opposite, it can be respect.

IZZARD: What if someone comes to you in the middle of the Second World War and says, 'do you have any Jewish people in your house?' and you do have them. That would be a lie. That would be disrespectful to Hitler.

O'DONNELL: I believe if I were in that situation, God would provide a way to do the right thing righteously. I believe that!

MAHER: God is not there. Hitler's there and you're there.

O'DONNELL: You never have to practice deception. God always provides a way out.

Granted, she got Godwinned by Eddie Izzard, but... ye fucking gods.

(Actually Jasmine Guy was pretty impressive in the discussion after that... Remember her? Hubba hubba...)

You could set your clock to this kind of shit... Karl Rove has had his "Come to McJesus" moment and is backing off his comments about O'Donnell.

This is pretty much to be expected, and it doesn't faze me. What's still difficult for me to understand is the way the zeros on RedState who were angry about Rove's initial statements will now adjust their memories to omit them. The memory-deletion process is I am sure by now fully complete, and some of those people honestly don't remember what Rove originally said.

This is the most biased reporting from the AP I've seen in awhile:

http://www.prospect.org/csnc/blogs/tapped_archive?month=09&year=2010&base_name=raise_taxes_on_the_rich_say_a

I don't know what the Associated Press has against counting higher numbers, but this is a very annoying headline: "Nearly Half Oppose Tax Hikes for Rich." Here's how the article opens:

Almost half the country opposes tax increases for the richest Americans, according to a poll suggesting that congressional Democrats are taking some risk by backing President Barack Obama's plan to boost levies on the wealthy.

Of course, the converse of "nearly half" is "more than half," and the quoted poll -- a new survey by AP-Gfk -- makes this clear. According to the poll, 54 percent of voters support raising taxes on the highest earners, while 44 percent oppose.

Here's my question for the AP's headline writer: Why focus on the plurality that wants the tax cuts, when a much larger majority would rather "soak the rich" in slightly higher marginal tax rates?

Like the players did?

The players should have kept their mouths shut. But that does not mean she doesn't deserve criticism for dressing in a sexually suggestive manner in a men's locker room.

This is not some innocent woman going to work and getting catcalls from people on the street, or the secretary whose boss is leering at her while she's trying to do her job. This woman deliberately draws attention to her sexuality while performing a job that shouldn't have anything to do with sexuality. She bills herself, deliberately, as the "hottest sports reporter in Mexico". She wants people to judge her on her sexuality while she's doing her job. And when people do it, feminists who routinely argue that women shouldn't be viewed as sex objects leap to the defense of a woman who is trying to be viewed as a sex object.

Your shitty attitude is already pretty clear by your "don't wear the uniform" bullshit statement.

And your shitty attitude is evidenced by your extreme bias that won't say a woman is at fault. The entire concept of dressing for success is wearing clothing appropriate to your job. What she wore was inappropriate, particularly for someone who is going to be entering a men's locker room.

The words that come out of someone's mouth are solely their own fault.

So the words that come out of your mouth aren't affected at all by things other people, me for instance, may say or write?

Is there an outfit a woman could wear in front of you that would justify you making inappropriate sexual comments? I certainly hope not.

By definition, there is no justification for inappropriate comments. The question is whether they are appropriate. I am not a fan of strip clubs in general, but let's say I go out with a group of guys to a club and a girl walks by naked. Is saying "nice ass" inappropriate? Or at least, is it less inappropriate than making the comment to a random woman walking down the street, or the woman who works down the hall?

No matter what someone else wears, the standard I hold myself to is the same, because my behavior is about me, not someone else.

That's an odd way to go through life, not looking at context, intent, or dress. Is it even possible to date someone if you have that kind of attitude? I mean, how do you ever get passed "how do you do", if the words that come out of your mouth are never dependent upon the other person's conduct?

Nobody forced them to act like that, and I'm willing to bet at least some of them had the decency to refrain.

Oh, I'm sure some did. The guys who said something should be told not to do it next time. And the "hottest sports reporter in Mexico" should be informed that if she wants to sell her "hotness", she can do it at the local Hooters or strip club, and stay the fuck out of locker rooms.

And yeah, the NFL and its players have such a fantastic history of holding a high standard of gender equality I can see why you wouldn't want this to paint such paragons of female equality in a bad light.

Oh, I see. The "female victimization that never ends" approach. Just because some assholes mistreated a completely different woman who was acting and dressing professionally, every other woman gets a free pass to dress like a jackass when she goes into a locker room. Sorry, I don't buy that.

Oh here. To clarify, by the way, apparently she was wearing something very similar to this, but not this exactly. I have no idea where Fox news got the idea that she was in an evening gown.

I assume she changed. Did you watch the interview where she was defending the appropriateness of her attire? While wearing a tight shirt, bottons open, and no bra. I swear, it's like a Saturday Night Live skit.

The thing is, the league has already ruled on this years ago. They are allowing women journalists into locker rooms. It's not like she's the first one. She should be able to expect that the locker room will be completely safe.

We've been down this road before with women journalists in the locker room getting harassed. They should be ashamed of themselves.

To answer your earlier question, no, I would not expect this kind of behavior, even if she had walked in there naked. i just don't see what her outfit has to do with the reason these guys behaved like animals. This wasn't a bachelor party. It was a press conference.

I agree that their behavior is inexcusable (but entirely predictable). With that said, females do NOT belong in a mens' locker room.
