And What Are We Drinking, Again?

Awwww, sorry to hear it - flu? cold? Eastern Europeans drink tea with lemon and spices, but years ago I saw this recipe in Prevention magazine for a cold mix I used to keep stored in a jar for consumption whenever winter sniffles appeared. I'd make a batch again, but I can't find Tang anywhere. http://www.prevention.com/health/healthy-living/black-tea-cold-and-sore-throat

i appreciate the good advice, FB. It's an upper respiratory infection, and my ENT loaded me up with antibiotics and corticosteroids. Still, every time I reach for that Gatorade, all I can think is "Fire Retardant!" Thanks for that. :)

You made me wonder, FB, because I haven't seen Tang in a grocery store since Moses was a baby. However, look what I found. http://www.amazon.com/Tang-Orange-Powdered-Drink-Mix/dp/B002WWHXS6

For what it's worth, I think they stopped manufacturing Tang, so it'll be a little harder to get these days (maybe NASA has a stockpile you could raid?)

No, look at Ravenhair's post, it can be ordered through Amazon, but I don't want it enough to do that. There's probably another orange powdered drink I can use in substitution for the tang.

But, more important, what are you drinking? :)

FB, what are you drinking, sweetness? BLU-Ray just told us:

Had Bulleit rye and Bulleit bourbon, now drinking Woodford Reserve and then going the fuck to bed.

Whatever you're drinking, I hope it's better than my fire retardant.

Eta: FB, I've also had a great deal of codeine cough syrup, so just ignore me. :)

Aaaah, I posted, then got notified you quoted me, and BLU-RAY posted in between, and I never saw it, never realized until now there was another post. I was drinking hot water with lemon, since I had an incredibly delicious, creamy Kilkenny at lunch that just wasn't going to be topped by anything else last night.

You're not going to believe this, but Tang is back on grocery shelves! Picked up a package, now I'll mix that Prevention magazine concoction up, but without the powdered tea. You can't buy powdered instant tea in Canada for love or money, it's considered an abomination from hell. So I mix the rest of the ingredients and when I want some to drink, brew a cup of tea and add the mix to the cup of tea.

I'm about to chill a variety of beer out on the balcony including some commemorative tallboys of Natty Boh for the Baltimore Ravens and some offerings from Six Point Brewery - Bengali Tiger, Sweet Action and The Crisp. The Natty Boh will be for the game tomorrow and the Six Point will be sampled this evening.
