assjfjgjsgjljljglgjfjsduar
I found myself rereading some of Jaime's Riverlands chapters in AFFC last night; some of my favorite in the series. And it hit me, not for the first — or last — time that Daven Lannister is actually a decent guy. He's funny, he sees the Freys for the shits they are, he respects the Blackfish and he seems capable. It also hit me that he's a walking corpse nonetheless, and I was sad that this otherwise decent guy had to be a Lannister. So. Who's your favorite person on the opposing team? The "opposing team" being whatever faction is set against to your preferred one.
harry_dresden
Kevan Lannister(boo Varys) Barristan Selmy. I hate Dany and I hate the Lannisters, but I find these two characters sympathetic.
Consigliere
Olyvar Frey. Poor bastard had the misfortune of being born a Frey.
franko99
Olyvar, Roselin, Amerei, Fat Walda and Perwyn Frey, they are as good as a Frey can be ETA
John Dorian
Well the Lannisters are evil and want bad things to happen to my 2 favorites Sansa & Arya, but Cersei's still my #3 because she's hilariously bitchy.
Hutch
Strong Belwas, Barristen, and since you mention it, Jamie. Olyvar was alright, but no Frey gets a pass in my book.
Light a wight tonight
Lothor Brune seems like an upright guy and he works for one of the bigger villains, Lord Baelish.
yolkboy
I was writing about Lancel for ptp recently, a character that was previously off my radar. I find the shape of his arc really interesting, and feel like the descriptions of him looking like a post Ramsay Theon after Blackwater was quite sad. He's a poor man's Jaime throughout the book, but then I don't think he did anything quite as bad as Jaime (or at least it was more understandable due to his age). He's on the road to redemption, maybe to be smashed apart by Robert Strong, and for these and more reasons - I find him an interesting character, and likeable in an unusual way. Twenty of House Goodmen
Well, as a Baratheon loyalist, I suppose the opposite team would be the Targaryens? I'd say...Dany. Though I like Selmy and Missandei as well. I'm also interested to see how Aegon turns out.
Wmarshal
Girl General I always imagine her as extremely hot and it melts way the whole she a terrible slaver for me, though I wont shed a tear once old Barry gives her and the Yunkai the spanking they deservein the upcoming battle. mushroomshirt
My vote is for Tommen. With the kittens and the chubbiness, he just seems like a nice kid. Too bad when you play the game of thrones you win or you die.
Queen of Whores
Roose Bolton. He's my second favourite character in the series.... but he happens to have the misfortune of going against my favourite character in the whole series, Stannis. Good Guy Garlan
My favorite faction are the Tyrells, and I guess their more immediate enemies (not counting Cersei) are Team Aegon and Dorne, but I love me some Varys, and Arianne is growing on me
Mad Monkey
Olyvar, Roselin, Amerei, Fat Walda and Perwyn Frey... ...Dunsen, Polliver, Raff the Sweetl--gah, I always lose it when people start listing off names. I really liked Tommen and Myrcella.
Lady Gwynhyfvar
I find a surprising number of Lannisters likeable-- Daven, Genna, Tyrion (sometimes) and, increasingly, Jaime :ph34r:I'm also pretty sure I would love Uncle Gerion.Eta- I forgot Kevan and Lancel, and wait, are Tommen and Myrcella Lannisters? 'Cos I like them too.I'm afraid I like about 75% of "Team Lannister" :(
Ser Creighton
Sandor back in the day but he doesn't really have a side, and I don't really get into the whole what team are you on thing. Go team bite me is about as close as I get. Don't know if I have anyone who fits the bill.Puddles maybe? Not really going to cheer for them till Jon is leading them. So I guess that's an opposing side for now.You know what Aerys Oakheart, wasn't really fond of who he served. Nasty bit of work that Myrcella, the kids pure evil and Darkstar knew it. SonofStannis
Selmy for sure. Hes a dedicated and loyal knight but to the wrong monarch. It wouldve been awesome if he ended up serving Aegon instead of this Connington loser.
Boarsbane
Renly and Robert Baratheon. It is a shame that of the 3 Baratheon boys, Stannis is the one who survived
Twenty of House Goodmen
Renly and Robert Baratheon. It is a shame that of the 3 Baratheon boys, Stannis is the only 1 left...It's alright. They'll be gone by the end of the series.
SonofStannis
I also liked Kevan, if he was older than Tywin then the Lannisters wouldve been in much better shape. And of course Kevan too, besides Jaime hes their only battle commander they got left.
