So, my son is three years old. And he just learned a 'magic trick' where he puts a yo-yo in his arm sleeve. Then he asks me where it is. Then he repeats this over and over and over again- about 500 times in a row. He loves that he's 'tricking me'. On one hand, I find it incredibly cute. On the other, I'm a bit tired of it now. My own kids are 6 and 3, and a real handful at the best of times. When they are sick, it's much harder. Eh, that's not how I work. I get into something for a little while...maybe a year, two or three, and then I get tired of it and move on. I will probably read the books when they come out in 10-20 years, but I doubt I'll still be hanging around at that point. That's just how I am. Before this it was Sherlock. Before that it was LotR. Before that it was opera. Before that it was Doctor Who. Before that it was translating Japanese novels. Before that, it was web-building. And so on and so forth. So yeah. I hit hard and heavy for a short time and then find something else. I've never been the type to stay with a hobby for a long time, but I'm also not the type who can really have hobbies run concurrently with each other.
