Dany as a character is very much in play for the sequel,

No, that is a crackpot theory. No resurrections anymore, please.

Daenerys was sort of insane and we can be happy that Jon did the job.

You got nothing to back this "insane" theory so stop bringing it up.

There will eventually be a sequel of some sorts, most likely decades form now, and you can book it that they will bring Dany back. That's why you pull the ol' body is unaccounted for trope, to leave room for a revival in the sequel.

As for how she comes back, the Red Priestess is the most likely way, another could be related to old Valyria and the doom, maybe Asshai related, or a new school of magic that they introduce in the sequel.

The idea is so awful, I could imagine HBO going for it - ad rehiring the same showrunners.

"No one's ever really gone"

Perhaps Syrio Forel will be her hand. I suppose the speculation is fair game, but I feel like this type of ending was just a troll move. They know people will speculate till the end of time with this kind of ending and you can't blame them. This is a world where people can be brought back from the dead. I expect nothing though.

There won’t be a sequel. The worst parts of this show are because they didn’t have the interesting source material to use anymore. GRRM has written a TON of history stories but no future stories. While prequels could pull heavily from good GRRM writing, any sequel would rely exclusively on new writing, which has been proven to be bad. If HBO wants to continue it’s GOT money grab, it will have to look back, not forward.

Why did Jon kill her?

How do you interpret her last sentences?

Didn’t Bran confirm that somehow he was the lord of light, considering Jon was “exactly where he needed to be”?

Lucas said the same thing about Star Wars EP7, for years and years. One day, eventually, it will get a sequel, probably long after GRRM has left us. That's just how corporate entertainment companies work.

Yup: Jon was Azor Ahai, who Nissa Nissad Dany: a knife to the heart.

Imo Drogon flew all the way "home": the Dothraki Sea, where he was born, and where Dany the Queen was born. She was always more a Khaleesi than anything else. It's also where Drogon took her on her first flight after the pit in Mereen. She flew with him back then, but Dany didn't control him.

I don't know, I think it makes sense that the reason Drogon didn't kill Jon but burnt the iron throne instead was because Dany was just pretending to be dead. Now she lives as a shepherdess with a small family in some mountains far away, she has a husband and a child as she saw in her vision, their home is a humble tent and she has given up on conquering the world. The end. :)

I didn’t expect Drogon to kill Jon (although I wasn’t so sure as they had their stare down). Many Targaryen dragon riders have been killed over the years, and I can’t think of a single instance that a dead Targaryen was avenged by their dragon.

What's in the east is a shadowbinder Quaithe. She can revive Dany.

Totally forgot about Quaithe. She might actually have a point to her story!

Sam says “He was last spotted flying east toward Volant". before Bronn cuts him off. What's in Volantis you ask? Kinvara, the High Priestess of the Red Temple of Volantis, who was convinced that Dany was the One who was promised, and would be happy to bring her back.

No reason to believe Drogon would stop there. Dothraki Sea lies after Volantis, so does Mereen, and so does Valyria. They might be going with the story of Balerion flying to Valyria with Area.

Reviving only works if it's needed. And there's no need for Dany anymore. She helped against the WW, the IT is destroyed, dynastic rule is ended, Slaver's Bay isn't a slaver area anymore, the Dothraki are in Westeros unable to capture people to sell them to markets, and the Unsullied protect the Naathi from other slave catchers. No, source for slaves and no markets anymore. And magical abilities will be tempered down as well - since Ice is done for and there's only 1 dragon left.

1. Maybe, that's the point. Dany's role is to bring back dragons.

2. If there really was no need for Dany, then Drogon would have just burned her body together with Iron Throne, but he didn't, because she is needed. To hatch more dragon eggs. And Quaithe can help her with that. Supposedly there are more dragon eggs at Asshai. What if dragons are something more than animals? What if they do have intelligence and magical powers? Supposedly dragons are fire made flash. So they are R'hllor's children, and are carriers of his power. What if R'hllor wants dragons to be reborn in the world? So it's likely, that Dany's main purpose was/still is to become the Mother of Dragons. Of more dragons than those first three.
