Football: Let's All Laugh at Chelsea

Jones should've done better, so should Jota (that one was really criminal, half the goal empty and he finds Clyne on the other half of it).

Darwin's miss after that corner in the second half was as good a chance as it gets. Virtually 5m from the goal line you really should score there. Yes, Henderson reacted great, but he really shouldn't have been given a chance to react there. Place the shot instead of just powering it towards the goal and the score is level.

Those were the three really good chances you fluffed. If you had been clinical...

Diaz in the first half was arguably unlucky with Henderson pulling off a great save.

Endo hits the cross bar.

Oh, almost forgot about Salah in injury time.

Those were the three, where you could've done with a bit more luck.

It was a bouncing ball in a crowded box off a set piece. You don't fuck around trying to place the ball in those situations, get a shot off and if it's on target 90% of the time you score. He's done the right thing there, hitting the keeper is basically bad luck.

Again, talking about being clinical is really a bullshit way of looking at football, because really nobody is clinical. Haaland is probably the most 'clinical' striker in world football and he misses loads of chances he should score. Jota is Liverpool's most clinical forward and he missed the best chance Liverpool had today.

Don't get me wrong I think Liverpool's forwards weren't good today but it's not because they didn't take their chances. It's because they were pretty rubbish in general play. Salah was basically uninvolved for most of the game, Diaz is meant to be one of out main outlets for progressing the ball and he kept losing it. Nunez honestly wasn't that bad imo and Gakpo was pretty good when he came on.

Pundits (especially ex pros) don't like to say it but honestly scoring frequently just comes down to luck so you need to weight the odds in your favour as much as possible by doing everything else well and Liverpool really didn't do that today.

If Arsenal win today they move onto 74 points, City on 73 and Liverpool on 71. Three points separating the top 3 with 6 games left to play is hardly game over for Liverpool. City should be favourites though given their favourable run-in with Arsenal having the toughest run-in of the contenders.

Wirtz with the hattrick against Bremen to put the cherry on top.

Anyway talking about Bremen. Keita's not worked out for Bremen at all. First his injuries continued, which prevented him from picking up a playing rhythm and his performance were then not great (just like his Liverpool days, the cynics might say). What's new was this. He was supposed to be in the matchday squad today, as Bremen are suffering from an injury crisis. Yesterday he learnt, that he was not gonna be in the starting XI, despite all of the injuries. That caused him not to go on the team bus, but rather be in a car on his way home (as Bremen's DOF Fritz put it). Consequences for Keita to be discussed on Monday.

Also: Ollie Watkins is the best striker in the world. Who knew.

Even if kane was ruled out, Southgate would probably try and replace him with Rashford.

Bigger picture - a bottle-job of a weekend.

Rangers threw away the title last night. The Championship automatic promotion contenders all choked. I can't help thinking City's long experience of these run-ins will prove decisive.

Just watched the highlights, I don't want to pile on when they are at their lowest (but the best time to kick a man is when he is already down).

The amount of empty seats at Arsenal at the end when the team have performed this well until this point, was really embarrassing.
