LA was down 14 @ New Orleans and had a 4th and 1 from around midfield and 7 minutes to go in the game, and Goff had actually been doing stuff.  Fischer elected to punt.

Fuck Jeff Fisher. He is everything that is wrong with America. All of those out of work rust belt folks should have just come after Fisher rather than voting Trump.

That worthless fuck makes as much in wages in one year as I likely will in my lifetime, and I have shits that are more competent and significantly more intelligent than him every morning.

49 points. The Rams have given up 49 points to the Saints. Yet Fisher will probably STILL be their head coach next year.

My guess is that Brice Butler is the odds on favorite to replace Williams as the #2 receiver. He's got the size (6'3) and the speed (4.3) to be a perfect fit opposite Bryant. He's been getting more and more playing time and has made some big catches this year. The only thing Williams has over him is that incredible sideline footwork. Williams did the same things 2 years ago against the Seahawks that probably won the game for Dallas.Though you may be right about drafting a receiver though unless one drops that they have high on their board, they probably wait to the mid-rounds. As you said, they have defensive needs and the lack of one dominant pass rusher might be what keeps them from winning a Super Bowl THIS year.

And yeah, Washington is VERY dangerous team. They have a QB and a receiver corp that is clicking on all cylinders. Both Dallas and Washington are better teams now than they were when they met in week 2 The entire division has improved dramatically from last year. No more of this "NFC Least" stuff.

Yeah to me it felt like a very good guard oriented 3 point shooting team (Washington) vs. a team with a dominant center (Dallas). Both can up a ton of points but Dallas is getting easier shots the whole game and especially in the Red Zone. They'll just roadgrade you with that running game and then if you somehow manage to stop that, good luck getting within 5 feet of Dak with that O-line. What really impressed about Dak is how even on 3rd and 14, he's not gonna settle for a simple 8 yard dump-off, he's going to be patient and go for the first down. QBs like that are terrifying.

Really didn't think we'd win that game so was mostly just happy to see Cousins continue to ball out. He's really coming into his own. Unfortunately just like last year he's gotta carry the entire load - can't count on the defense or running game or even the kicker to pick up the slack. He needs to be this great the rest of the way for the Skins to make the playoffs I think.

Dallas meanwhile looks really good. I think it's the most unstoppable offense in football and it'll play well in bad weather too. I'd say their defense will hold 'em back but every single contender except Seattle is one dimensional this year. But a ball control offense and Marinelli can help cover up its weaknesses. Looks like the NFC is going through Dallas this year.

That Skins game scared the crap out of me. You guys look real good, too. Honestly, never thought much of Cousins, but Thursday he showed me what he can do. And Reed? Holy shit, is all i'll say about him. It was the game i was worried about most in the past 2 months, really.

That's a really good analogy regarding the offenses and it's the "3 point shooting" teams that concern me in the NFC. I might be crazy but actually I'm more afraid of Atlanta, Washington, and the Giants than I am of Seattle. Dallas' offense matches up well against Seattle's defense. They are one of the few teams that can match Seattle's line AND secondary with their own weapons. The Cowboys beat Seattle in Seattle 2 years ago and lost by 1 point to them last year with the GREAT Matt Cassel at QB. :stillsick:

One interesting thing is the remaining teams on the NFC East's schedule:

The Giants have @Steelers, Cowboys, Lions, @Eagles, @Redskins.

Washington has @Cardinals, @Eagles, Panthers, @Bears, Giants.

Philly has tonight vs Packers, @Bengals, Redskins, @Ravens, Giants, Cowboys

Dallas has @Minnesota, @Giants, Bucs, Lions, @Eagles

The Giants might have the toughest schedule and have Washington right behind them. Dallas' schedule is no cakewalk but they should have a big enough lead not to blow the division and still looking good for home field advantage, especially with Seattle about to lose to Tampa. Washington had the 1st place schedule from last year but the Packers and Cards have regressed big time. Philly is at .500 but still lurking. It will be interesting to see if the East can get not just 2 but 3 teams in the playoffs.

He's so bad the Bengals deserve every loss the rest of the season for keeping him.

We'd have 2-3 more wins if we had a kicker like Justin Tucker.

This true. I'm now praying for a tank of epic proportions.

Denver holds KC to 49 yards in the first half.  And is losing.

Von Millar is a beast as we know, but it may be time to try the rookie at QB.  Or see if Von Millar can play O-line too.  At this point I am desperate.

And will probably still have a job next year. Worse yet, they will probably hire another retread former head coach. Man I just keep thinking back to that fake outrage from him when he cut that player who wasn't going to make the team anyway and was like, that is 7-9 bullshit, we will not be 7-9!!! Yeah, you were right you won't be 7-9, you WISH you were good enough to be 7-9.

Maybe the NFL can learn to adapt...  NFL considering ending or limiting Thursday Night Football.

That would be a good idea.  Or they could just do an 18 week season with two byes, and have every team have a bye prior to TNF.  Then teams would have time to prepare an actual gameplan.

How about putting better games on Thursday?  This week's game should get good ratings with two teams in playoff contention.

Can you do flex scheduling for a Thursday game though?

At the beginning of the year, if you had scheduled Green Bay and Cincinnati for this week on a Thursday; wouldn't you expect two teams in the heat of a playoff race?  Instead, you would have two mediocre teams.

After typing that I decided to look at this week's games and get a real example... Monday Night Football this week.  Colts v Jets.  Before the season started, many people felt both of those teams would be solid playoff contenders.  Now here we are in week 13 and both are on the outside looking in.

Scheduling is tough in the NFL where everything is designed to allow teams to rise from the bottom to the top and vice versa.
