Been on a horror kick lately and getting some recommendations from r/horror.
Anything for Jackson was the first rec that I actually watched and I loved it. I’m a sucker for demon possession movies done right and this one worked, and was actually original.
I rewatched A Dark Song for the first time since it came out. A real slow burn but very impressive with what they got out of the actors and budget. Not for everyone but I think it’s solid.
I also rewatched The Blackcoat’s Daughter. I legitimately love this movie. The atmosphere and sense of dread throughout is great. This one is also a slow burn but absolutely delivers in the end. I’ve watched it with a few people who loathe it though. Another not for everyone I guess.
I might have to see if I can find the other two films you mentioned, because I absolutely love The Blackcoat’s Daughter. Such a great film, and it lends itself well to repeat viewings.

Interesting that it was more of a trailer for Patch 2.0 than for Phantom Liberty per se. But it was good that they confirmed that all of the 2.0 improvements will be available to existing players for free, presumably from when PL launches.
Is there any word on when the update will be released? I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s released as much as a week before the dlc.

From what I saw, it’s being described as a calf sprain. Nothing to do with any ligaments.

What would happen if all the high end stars cut a segment of their own pay to have divided among all other actors and crew on their films and shows?
I still absolutely support WGA and SAG/AFTRA.
Didn’t Gandolfini do that on The Sopranos?

Inoue is so deserving of his nickname. That was amazing.

Oooh I haven’t yet - thank you! It’s sci-fi isn’t it? Definitely my cup of tea. Waiting for my mum to be ready to watch Foundation but that’s on my list too.
It is. Kind of a trippy sci-fi that put me in mind of The Twilight Zone at its best.

I won’t post it because it looks so shit, but the trailer for The Winter King is out there.

Volkanovski is simply on another level. This guy might have entered the GOAT discussion. Which I think is stupid, but he’s legitimately an all time great.

Just fyi, I used to like Cornell West, but seriously think he's lost his friggin' mind. He also called Russell Brand as a "progressive gem," and a couple of weeks ago I heard he praised Rep. IfThat'sReallyHisName in an op-ed.
I lost respect for him when he went on Bill Maher’s show to give him a pass for using the N word.

What a wonderful show. It really leaned into its weirdness this final season, and it worked so well. I’m left particularly impressed by the acting. Such a wonderful cast. I think everyone on this show should feel proud of what they accomplished.

That is a type of gun. I’m not trying to be an asshole, but when your opposition’s bread and butter is mis-defining/re-defining words and outright lying, I think it is important to be as accurate and honest as possible in contrast.

I just learned a tragic fact. The lead that makes up heads etc. of bullets -- when they enter the body, even if the wound(s) isn't/aren't lethal, the bullet head shatters, into the most miniscule bits, that cannot be removed. Thus the victim of the shooting becomes a victim of lead poisoning. Women who have received and survived these wounds are told not to have children for they will not be able to carry the fetus to term.
This is inaccurate. There may be specific bullet types that do this, but it’s certainly not all.

As to the first. I’m all sorts of confused. Maybe she said “no”. But “Dr. Jacob” is really oddly upbeat if so…
I don’t think there was a proposal. And I think that Michelle realized her dream hadn’t really been going to Paris, but going there with Ted.

Road to Perdition (2002) An incredible cast from the nearly last performances of an actor-king such as Paul Newman, to the then nobody, Daniel Craig. In between Ciarán Hindes and Jude Law, with protagonist Tom Hanks, in a role I never would have thought of him in. However, there is heartwarmth as associated with him, as curdled as it may be perceived since this road trip of dad and son is provoked by murder after murder, including that of wife/mother, son/brother, as they are on lam to exact both revenge and keep from being killed themselves.
This takes place in a vague Midwest, starting in a what? Small city/town in the environs of Chicago. Irish mob, not the mafia, but someone with the ring that rules them all, who isn’t going to protect Michael and son from taking their revenge.
It’s that lovely re-creation of honey-toned browns and sepia golds that scream these early decades of the 20th C and the hyper period realism, from weather (snow on the ground) to kitchen sinks to stubbled fields, this thing that Hollywood movies have always done so well, which broadcast – “You are descending into entertaining, satisfying Movie. Even if it doesn't exactly make sense you aren't going to be bothered to notice."
I don’t know if you’re aware, or care, but this is an adaptation. I just wanted to point it out because you often disparage “cape” comic adaptations as comic book movies.

For me that was Guns and Roses at Toledo Speedway jam. That same guy was passed out in the mud before Guns came on stage. Good times.
For you. I guess mine was pretty similar, because I turned to the guy as he was coughing his ass off, and he said he and his girlfriend couldn’t take any more.

Bella Flek and the Flektones in Atlanta. Pretty good show, and the first time I had a random stranger hand me a joint. Oddly enough, the only other two times that has happened were at the only two other shows I’ve been to.

I have never seen Willow or Andor. I'm assuming by your recommendation that they are of high quality
Andor is excellent. It was everything I hoped an adult themed Star Wars show could be. Willow is shit. But if your nostalgia itch is irritating enough, it’s not bad.
Trailer Thread: Reeling them in.
