Lord Hanna
We are damn spoiled, as fans of all things comic book related. What a time to live in, when even Cloak and Dagger, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Flash, Arrow can have shows.
DaveSumm
It makes you wonder how big the MCU can get......it's only 8 years old and we have 11 individual movie series on the slate (not including Avengers) and.......8 TV shows? AoS, AC, Mockingbird spinoff, DD, JJ, LC, IF, Cloak and Dagger. Imagine another 8 years......it's gonna be a full time job following it all. There's the Defenders TV series as well combining the various Netflix characters.
The Anti-Targ
16 hours ago, Jon AS said: Well it is the reason given for why Fisk is making his move at that time. It's also the explanation for how Matt and Foggy can afford to open their law firm despite ot having much money. The problem that Marvel clearly haven't figured out a solution for is how to properly acknowledge the TV shows in the films. It should be easier with the Netflix shows, as they're fairly small scale and just having a character or two appear without much explanation should be doable, but SHIELD has decided it's this epic tale that is hard to contain in small walk-on parts. But like many things in TV, there was no reason to explain. Fisk is a rich guy and can afford to buy up property, the audience didn't need a backstory of property prices falling to believe Fisk had the means to do what he did. And Matt and Foggy could have lucked out and found a rent controlled building. Or if they needed property prices to fall for some reason they could have just blamed things on the GFC rather than the BFNYC. IMO the fall in property prices was a conceit to connect the MCU and the NFTVU and not actually essential to the show. Also in a situation like the BFNYC what can happen is property prices go up, if the exodus of people from NYC is less than the reduction of property supply caused by the destruction. The 2011 Earthquake in Christchurch caused a lot of property destruction, but it caused prices (and rents) to rise because there was a property shortage. So it's all about whether property supply reduces more or less than the property demand after a crisis. If the show needed property prices to skyrocket after the BFNYC, then they could have equally plausibly made that the case. Indeed falling rents should make for a much happier Hell's Kitchen, which is not really what the show should want.

None of the crossovers are strictly necessary (except for the Avengers movies for obvious reasons), it simply adds to the feeling that these characters exist in the same world. The point of the shared universe is that the option to include such things exists, nothing more (well that and to use the smaller properties to build up hype for the bigger ones). Yea, I thought I'd total individual heroes just to make the point.....make that 12 movie and 9 shows then.

I'm only really connected with them through Dark Avengers and Cloaks sporadic appearances here and there, but always thought they were kind of cool. Yeah and I suspect her civil war appearance will be similar in terms of exposure a bit like one of the "mothers" in the crowd in BvS getting a main part in the DCU soon. It won't matter too much, The problem is that it shows how separate the film and TV universe is becoming as I'd have hoped there'd be enough communication for it not to occur eg when casting the civil war part they'd think "you know what she may be great for that lead role in "luke Cage". Basically, i don't think it would have happened if she had been playing a part in Dr Strange. Or Luke Cage and Daredevil for example.
Bastard of Boston
I love Tessa Thompson, so I love this... Deadline reports Tessa is joining the cast of Thor: Ragnarok She's apparently going to be a love interest for Thor. More than that, she's playing someone powered...Valkyrie, maybe? I wonder what this means for Jane and Sif.
Rhom
Means Jane is played by an actress who's contract expired and Sif is too busy filming Blindspot.

Interesting how Inhumans has been pushed back. Fits in with the whole TV/Film split and how the Inhumans was being pushed from the TV side. Hopefully it doesn't disappear completely and this time gives Feige the time to craft it into one of his babies. He at least wants it to be about the classic Inhumans - he's probably cool with the film franchises not having X-men stand ins given how much other material there is to play with. Look forward to hearing some more on Captain Marvel. I also think if you want people to think two movies are separate entities then calling them "Name:part 1" and "Name: part 2" is a bad way to go about it. If they need place holders call it Avengers 3 and 4.
