Watch, Watched, Watching: Blame is safer than praise

The Strain is worth watching just to be able to follow along with the Got Your Milk podcast, made by the same fantastic gang who do the best Game of Thrones podcast, "The Joffrey of Podcasts". Of course unlike GoT, the Strain is very much a hatewatch deal for them too.

I completely disagree here  :P I'm usually a subbed-guy all the way, but with Bebop I would personally recommend the dubbed version. The dubbed voice-actors fit much better with the genres from which Bebop takes its inspiration (noir and western). They feel more lived in.

The English dub is unbearable. Faye sounds like an actress from a porn movie.

 I actually think Faye is the weakest of the originals - just veers too far towards stereotypical anime cutesiness - but I get where you're coming from.

For me it's like the original Spike and Jet are doing Clint Eastwood and the dub actors are doing Bonanza. Each has its charms, but I far prefer the grounded, widescreen world-weary tone of the originals to the somewhat hammy, smallscreen sounding dubs.

I realise plenty think differently though, and to be honest I'm just happy when anyone is a fan of Cowboy Bebop, no matter which cast they're hearing.

All the episodes of "The Critic" (Jon Lovitz animated series) are up on You Tube.

Almost done with season 1.

Holy shit this show is the perfect television show equivalent of a fine wine, it really does keep getting better with age! I mean I liked it when it original aired but coming back to it now, it was just so brilliant!

Stay away from The Strain thread then. It's pretty much everyone hate watching.

I try to bring some love there from time to time, but yeah, it's still pretty much overwhelmed by hate.

Pretty good description. The French dub is even more grounded and Clint Eastwood than the original one, and that's why I like it even better than the original.

We'll all agree on that :)

Why ? It's my native tongue :(

Not my fault, I watched it on TV the first time.

Everyone knows being able to speak French means you're a badass. If I've learned one thing from Jean Reno I've learned that.

Started watching Vikings for background noise as I played Madden, now I'm on episode 4 and I'm totally digging it. It's a bit underdeveloped, but Ragnok has some kind of ungodly Michael Pitt/Jake Gylenhaal thing going on that makes him unbelievably sexy. And I love that the Vikings are complete savages, there's no cheap attempt to redeem them or make them the good guys... so far.

I'm a little bummed over here.... all of my shows have either ended, or are a week (or so)away....

The Last Ship, True Detective, Ray Donovan, the Strain, Tyrant, Mr Robot, Complications, Rectify, Strike Back...

So weI need some new stuff to watch.... we have Fear tWD on Sundays..... and we're starting S3 of Hell on Wheels... but our nights are devoid of anticipation...lol
