In that regard, the fact that there are no practical way for Trump to build a wall on the southern border and have Mexico pay for it is immaterial. Doesn't mean much of course, but I haven't seen any Gary Johnson web ads; and only a couple Jill Stein ones. Tons of Clinton and Trump ones. It's whether he tries: how much damage his attempts do: and what he settles on as a compromise (or sop) to the people he made this promise to. This has already been threatened and would likely cause Mexico to capitulate. Would ruin relations, but it could b3 done and done without any Congress approval. If the campaign promises are things which are obviously unfeasible, they're not a window into the governing philosophy, they're just demagoguery or entertainment. In any case, none of this will matter all that much. If there is no October surprise, Clinton will probably win: the polls oscillate with time, but even at worst she was tied with Trump and at best she was up by double digits.
