Football: The long goodbye. tic-toc goes the Klopp.

Kane on the score sheet again. 17 more goals needed to break Lewandowski's record.

Good to see Kane receiving the recognition he deserves. A lot of non PL watchers previously seemed to be under the impression that Kane is overrated just because he's English. They now seem to have come around to what PL watchers have known for years i.e. Kane is the best CF in the world.

Pettiness in football is reserved for literally everyone.

Anyway, you're standing up for the hometown of Tommy Robinson and Andrew Tate. Shame on you.

Nope. Not watching. Can't stand the sight of them. Will laugh and point at the cunts on MotD tonight.

I think our last home 4-4 was when you did the biggest choke job with Tiote (RIP) scoring an absolute heartbreaker, now that was funny.

Meanwhile in Bundesliga 2. The Saturday night game had to be stopped for 30 minutes, because fans are protesting the German Football League's decission to bring in an investor by flooding the pitch with tennisballs.

The African Cup of Nations is always scintillating stuff, but every so often the outcomes are undone by dodgy refereeing.

In the second half of the Ivory Coast / Senegal match, the ref completely ignored a stonewall penalty that should have resulted in Senegal taking a 2-0 lead.  Straight tackle from behind in the box by the last man in the Ivory Coast defense, no call, play on.  VAR sits on their hands.  Astounding scenes.  I am sure the English FA is checking on how much it will cost to hire these guys after the tourney is complete.

Then later in the half he booked an Ivory Coast striker for diving on another completely obvious penalty going the other way.  The VAR officials were actually awake for this one, however, and so after some faffing around, the ref booked the keeper instead, and Ivory Coast leveled the scores from the spot, before going on to win in a shoot-out after one of the Senegalese defenders put his penalty shot off the left upright.

I am pretty sure than Senegal did enough to win that game in normal time, but they go home after an officiating shocker and perhaps a little too much defending rather playing their attacking game.

Nevertheless, the games are just tremendous, end-to-end stuff.  For a neutral football fan, these are just such good matches to watch.

Chelsea currently getting ragdolled by Wolves at home, if anyone was still wondering if they're gonna break out of mid-table any time soon.

Meanwhile we've looked comfortable against West Ham but Mainoo just came off so it's anyone's game.

Szoboszlai missing today, along with Bradley on compassionate leave and Nunez only in the bench as a precaution after his foot injury.  It’s a pity to lose Szoboszlai because Gravenberch doesn’t provide the same control or solidity in MF.  Thiago is on the bench though after his long absence.

It would have been better if we had the midweek team + bench available today rather than against Chelsea.
