For example there was a couple trailer scenes were Gandalf was walking around some abandoned castle(I assume he went to the same one Radagast was at) but that wasn't in the movie.I don't recall Gandalf telling Radagast where they were going, so whose fault is it, really?even if Radagast didn't know he still chose to drive around in a giant circle thus ruining any chance of avoiding the wargs.also, this scene was amazing. Cool scene indeed, but can anyone tell my why some dwarves look like extras from One Direction, and their leader like Eddard Stark in Winterfell? (yes, yes, $$$$$). The WETA chronicles artbook that I have, explains that there was a sequence just after Rivendell, where Thorin and the dwarves are going across the mountains, whilst Radagast and Gandalf invesitage the Nazgul tombs, which in the films are located in the High Fells. They investigate the tombs, with Gandalf going down a steep flight of stairs, and eventually finding to their shock that all the Nazgul tombs have been opened, from the inside. Strong implication from that is that the Necromancer has gathered all the Nazgul to Dol Guldur already.This scene was clearly shot, but did not make the theatrical edition. We could see it in the extended edition. It seems like a great scene and I think it should have made the cut, as it gives both Radagast and the Necromancer subplot some more airtime, which now seems a rather underserved part of the film's storyline. At this stage I'm pretty happy with any resolution to that storyline, so long as we actually get it.When The Hobbit was written, the entire Necromancer plot was just a plot device to get Gandalf away from the company, so Bilbo and the dwarves could struggle by themselves. The Nazgul were at Minas Morgul long before the White Council chose to act against the "Necromancer".Obviously.But then, Gandalf had learned decades earlier that it was truly Sauron at Gol Guldur, because he went there. He just needed to convince the White Council to act. Saruman had said several times in the previous 2 centuries that it wasn't Sauron, then that it wasn't important. He eventually learned that Sauron's orcs were looking for the Ring and decided to get rid of this competition by allowing the Council to attack - which basically was decided at the Council portrayed in the movie.The whole past history of Mirkwood, Dol Guldur and Necromancer has already been massively changed by PJ, so changing the Nazgul's return to action is in the same league.Concerning the Witch-King of Angmar, it could be that, just like with fiefdom titles of the late Middle-Ages, the title could end up being applied to the person - the way you would say "Gloucester" or "Norfolk" when talking about said duke.
