Lady Olenna
Made some smoked/bbq pork chops last night with salad from the garden and some kind of carb (baked beans? can't remember). Hubs, son and father pretty much ate all the chops so I had a dinner of sides. I've been recovering from a nasty cold so I wasn't hungry anyway.Tonight, I made a dinner that I bought from Fresh & Easy. I usually don't do the pre-made stuff and now I remember why. It was chicken breast with spinach, prociutto and alfredo sauce. Which sounds good, but tasted funky somehow. Not my thing. I wanted something quick and easy since I don't feel well but nope, won't do that again.edited to add: Was watching a show on travel channel about fast food around the globe. I don't eat a lot of fast food but they showed that in China (?) they have curry and spicy dipping sauces for chicken Mcnuggets. Now, if American McDonald's offered those here, I might be convinced to give nuggets another try.
Fragile Bird
Aioli...it is good. I don't even really know what it's made of...a mustard sauce of some kind? But man, it is good.Trisky, here's a video: And a recipe: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Aioli-107026It doesn't traditionally have mustard, but mustard does add flavour. It's essentially garlic mayonnaise.

Fragile Bird
Well, it sure tastes that good. But who's to say that the god of mustard will not murder me?ETA: And, yes, there is a god of mustard.Treat the god of mustard with generosity, incorporate him into your aioli, and you will win him over. Seli
Yesterday, a variation on nasi goreng (an Indonesian style of fried rice), nice, tasty and easy. Especially with all the side-snacks/condiments, peanuts, sambal, emping, pickled gherkin, omelette, fried onion.

Tears of Lys
Treat the god of mustard with generosity, incorporate him into your aioli, and you will win him over.I reguarly use a mixture of mayo and Dijon mustard as a spread for burgers too. Rich, but worth it!
kairparavel
I blended an egg, lemon juice, olive oil, mustard powder and salt. Truly it is more mayo than anything else. And it hasn't broken on me once. I have not made true aioli in a bit.

MinDonner
Macaroni cheese tonight, cos I forgot to defrost any meat and I have something of a milk surplus. Yet to decide how I'll flavour the sauce, but likely it will involve either some fresh basil that I have growing on a windowsill, or rosemary from out by the front door. Was planning to have that with leftover roast turkey last night, but by the time I'd washed the dishes I couldn't be bothered so just had a turkey sandwich instead.
