[BOOK SPOILERS] Nitpick Without Repercussion #2

I know there's impunity here and you all are probably joking, but none of that will happen.

In the same way that Brienne vs Hound boss fight will never, ever happen. Oh right, it did happen.

I see nothing improbable about the last few posts. We already know Jamie's going to Dorne. We already know Brienne isn't following her book storyline ( since Season 4 episode 4 ) at all. And Stoneheart doesn't exist. Basically Brienne is one of those characters that is completely unpredictable at this point ( Sansa is another that has no book material left ). Going to Dorne or hooking up with Pod is certainly feasible.

I absolutely guarantee you that Bronn is going to be seen in the King's Landing brothel before he goes to Dorne and I further absolutely guarantee you that we will see a brothel in Dorne.

Are you kidding me? We saw a brothel at Winterfell, the molestown brothel, brothel in Essos, the KL brothel in practically every show and you think they're going to make Dorne a new static area of action for the show and there will be no brothel? Oh my sweet summer child. LOL.

As far as Thug Brienne and Thug Blackfish meeting up together, that I can't say, anything can happen there, they cold go on a crime spree together, who knows, when you have Brienne picking a fight with the Hound over the first genuinely selfless thing he ever did in his life and biting his ear off to boot, anything is possible now with her character. Perhaps they could all open a brothel in the RL or the Vale...since we've lacked sex scenes there.

It doesn't stay with you, either, like empty calories.

This quote deserves golden medal!HAHAHAHA!Perfect!

I'm back to my ASOS reread again (after letting it go for a few days), and I've hit a chapter that has lead me to a nitpick. Actually, it's just lead me back to pick at a nit that's really pissed me off, so here goes: I just finished the Jaime POV of the bear pit. It still pisses me off that they had Brienne bite off Sandor's ear. It is NOT the same at all. It's just dawned on my while reading that Brienne struck the first blow against The Goat, she did get the first piece of the man who spent about two books lopping off hands and feet of everyone he encountered. Brienne's blow to him, and her defense of herself, is not in any way similar to a BOSS FIGHT with The Hound.

I guess D&D have don't really understand much about an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, after all.......their ear for an ear, is a mess.

The whole scene felt like :

"Hello."

"Hello."

"AH KILL U!"

"AH KILL U TOO!"

"WHAH?"

"I DUNNO WHAH."

"ME NEITHER"

"OKEH"

"OKEH"

*they draw swords*

"RHAAAAArGHGHGHFHGHGHGH......."

"AAARGHHHHAAAR ARRRR"

*battle begins*

And, I thought we were too stupid to handle things like Osha and Asha, but we can do Olly and Olyvar, Oliver, whatever the hell his name is?

...Just like we couldn't handle Hazzeah which was changed to Zalla :p

But, I guess we're not going to see Olyvar at the Wall? Which is weird, because they created a character who is awfully close to Satin....but then, aren't going to use him as Satin...

Who knows, maybe Olyvar will end up at the Wall.I kind of believe he will.Would D&D resist having some "action"at the Wall with other gay guys of the Night's Watch (in hiding) or have him escape to Molestown every now and then or maybe having Olyvar flirt and hit on Jon?Maybe give him a spontaneous kiss on screen whereJon will be like "Oh sorry, I am not into that kind of thing" hahahahahaha

Yeah, but we know that the brothel is going to be replaced with the "new" brothel, southern franchise edition. Maybe instead of his water garden, Doran himself will be a partaker of brothel wares....or, maybe they will make the Dorne brothel a water garden motiff....wet naked girls!!! Oh yes, I see it clearly.

It pains me to admit I am seriously sitting here wondering who they can still send to the KL brothel next season, LOL. Maybe Loras will starting going there? Pycelle?

You know what my fear was about Dorne?Just like they made the Thenns full on cannibal sickos...What if they make the Dornish implied paedophiles? :uhoh: (Through context taken from dialog and some hints here and there0

Using the "water garden" thing which was just innocent. Also using the idea of Dorne being more sexually liberated than the rest of Westeros.

That would cross serious lines. If they ruin the Dornish and make them creepy pedos with that kind of crap only because to want to make things edgier (just like making Thenns the worst people beyond the North)...I'm done with the show.

I have to admit, you have me wondering about it now. It's bad enough that the whores seemed to be giving away their wares for free (I'm looking at Precious Pod here), but going forward they may be hard pressed to even find someone for the freebies. I'm thinking if I was a whore at THE Brothel, I'd need at least double, or time with Pod, to let Pycelle through my door.

Hey, this is where that Tyrion line about all the whores from Casterly Rock to King's Landing would go begging if he took The Black could come into play. Perhaps Varys packed one or two away for him? I would think the god of tits and whine, errr wine, leaving for Essos would be as detrimental to the whores as him going to the Wall would be.

We need a new mystery every season, next one will be: How DO the whores of King's Landing get by........without Oberyn, Bronn (since he may be in Dorne a bit), and the god of tits and wine.

I honestly never understood why the made Pod older. We see in the show that kids are clearly capable of killing. Why not cast a teenager.Someone 14-16 who looks that age?Not saying 12.It seems like they cast an older person just because they wanted to make him ....a SEX GOD hahahahah! It's as if they already had the scene with the whores not taking coin from a first timer with extraordinary skills in their minds before they ever cast Pod.So they wanter to "realize" it.

At least a 5-way.

Despite all the criticism towards the show, mine included. The sex content still pales in comparison to True Blood and Rome,Those shows had wayyyyy more sex scenes.GOT is pretty mild.

I'm not sure where to put this (nor if I'd have to await approval on another section) so I thought I'd bring it here first. It's an article from Sophie Turner's ComiCon appearance, with mention of Sansa in the upcoming season. The headline seems a bit hyped, but I thought some here might be interested, especially since it does hit on Sansa and the turn of events in s4. The headline reads: Sansa will use her Sexuality to Manipulate. That seems a bit of an overstatement, in so far as the written article shows, but there is video with Sophie that I still need to check out to see if there's some more to this. Anyway, I thought some might be interested, here's the link:

Concom sent me over the edge, all the way around. Sophie wants to reunite with Tyrion so they can be Brangelina? Okey then. George says there is no true canon and he's not writing an episode and had no casting input. No Arianne. If we see her coming on to LF in an obvious way, that will be revolting, whether she's Black Sansa or wearing something else. Did I mention Comcon sent me over the edge? I am down there, fallen down the hill with the Hound...begging that someone give me the gift of mercy at this point.

OMG!! Really?? See, I am no where near caught up on most of the stuff from ComiCon, I'm trying to work on that now. I did learn about GRRM bypassing any writing for S5 and maybe getting serious about the book writing he needs to do. As far as what Sophie may or may not say about what she wants or hopes for TVSansa, I'd keep in mind that most of this ComiCon stuff is just to amuse the fans, etc. I do recall reading something about her saying that her and Tyrion seemed to have each other's backs (something like that?), but hadn't heard all that you have just posted.

I have seen some of the comments from GRRM about the show is the show, the books are the books. Is the no Arianne confirmed by anything more than.......her not being in the video yet. I do agree that it seems a slim hope that she makes the cut as the news comes in, but I'm trying to keep a bit of hope alive. It does seem as if the Point of S5 may just be: The Porne of Dorne.

I do try and keep in mind that a lot of ComiCon is about......bullshit, and the stars meeting people without being allowed to say much. I try, and as far as real story goes, I'm just waiting on more book, LOL And, trying to remind myself, that whatever happens onscreen doesn't necessarily equate to what we may get in the books. I did like the snippet I read about GRRM saying when he sits down to write the books, he gets lost in it, ie.......the show, the real world, etc., will not effect him. That is what good story should do when reading, get one lost. I suppose it makes sense that it should be the same way writing.

I'm trying, anyway, and trying to find something to enjoy on the show inbetween........PnLing at half the mess. ;)

No, no Arianne isn't confirmed, I had initially refused to believe it...because it would be such a strange departure and for what it implied about yet another possibly frivolous POV character and thought they might be holding off on her casting as a stand alone if she was someone more along the lines of a Dormer level actress. But, I dunno, with Mycella aged up and recast and Tryst aged up and cast as a hottie...it starts to feel like more of a long shot...which makes me really wrong about a lot of things, LOL.

Yeah, the show is the show, the books are the books. So, that makes our nitpicking REALLY out of place. Yes, I need the gift of mercy ASAP.

They did mention a lot of Stannis, which could go either way, good Stannis would be good, indecisive Stannis who is both Davis and Mel's bitch, not so much. No Wyman Manderly cast yet. Ahem.

I do think Arianne is a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slim chance, I was just wondering if I missed any news, so thank you. :cool4:

Ah, nitpicking is never that much out of place, the show's own stories circling round and back to George's are bound to still be a mess, all on their own. But, with lots of porn.

See, I'm totally behind on the Stannis mentions, though. Ya'd think lots of Stannis mentions would have lead to the boards being bombarded by the Stan fans. Then again, maybe they are fearing what it all might mean, too much time on screen hasn't done many of the characters a big favor, LOL

No Arianne, sigh. The Porne of Dorne it is. But not from the female POV.

Yes, actors bullshit all the time. She wants to seem important. She should be more concerned that they cut Sansa out of her own story again.

At this point, I want the Hound to hook up with Osha on the show, she likes big men.

Rory talks about filming the final fight scene:

Remember, I'm fighting a girl, I'm a big 6'6" ex-lumberjack, and she's a lady, and she looks great in armor, but I'm a big strong guy, so I've got to look strong but not knock out a leading actress, so it was pretty challenging.

OMG!!! I'm dying of laughter with Sandor and Osha. PERFECT!! :lmao:

Although, maybe we should edit this shit out, you know D&D!! :bang:

LMAO. Yeah, they could get some rough sex going...no doubt. And, I guess, I don't know, I haven't seen anything about Natalie coming back? I assume that would have made some level of news? or maybe I missed it, so no Osha at all this season? Is that possible? Or, maybe they're holding that for later?

Looks like she doesn't know, so no SanOsha for me:

I don't know entirely what they're going to do yet on the show, if they're going to pick up with us next season. I don't think they've finalized the scripts yet, or who's doing what, or what they're picking up from the books, or where they're going off-book. Where is it going to go? I don't know.

I had read a different interview with Natalia that basically alludes to the same thing, it seems she didn't have any information upcoming, I can't remember where I read it, though. These interviews seem to have happened a bit before any filming and all, though. Hell, I'm still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind on ComiCon reading, fer shame. But, I did post some pics I found in the Beautiful Men thread, priorities, after all. ;)

LOL The "Brangelina" part was obviously a joke. Did you also miss the part where she was joking: "he was my other half! We loved each other so much! Couldn't you feel the love?" making the audience and George giggle.

The only part where she seemed to be serious was when she said they were starting to bond and she was starting to trust him and even somewhat love him "not like that - but as a person", which is what they were going for in the show, Tyrion and Sansa being friendlier to each other than in the book.

Sophie's comments were not what sent me over the edge, they only contributed to the increasing sense of alienation between show and book. It was the author himself whose comments changed my perceptions about a lot of things, Talisa or Jeyne, take your pick, no true answer. Whatever.

So, I no longer understand why people are concerned about Arianne or "how" the books are going to be adapted, which plots will stay and which will go. The author has told us that his own work is not to be preferenced over the show, and that they are separate entities anyway. So, everything about the show, casting, adaptation, it becomes a non issue. The author told me so. He told me, pointblank that his own version of the story is not any truer than what the show does.

Nitpicks, in point of fact, if they relate to the books, are a non issue. If they were to cast a thin, extremely handsome blond guy with a french accent as Wyman Manderley, no one has a right to complain or be disappointed. The author told me so.

I totally got what you were saying, it's all a joke pretty much. We were hoping to see GRRM's masterwork, and they are playing to the cheap seats.

But I don't think GRRM actually believes his version is not the true one, I think he cries into his pillow every night, the pillow stuffed with cash (there is some compensation).
