Soccer XXXIII- MLS Rises and Various Euro Talk

It says a lot about the popularity of MLS in Canada (as opposed to in my narrow little corner of it) that the first 20 minutes of the nationally-broadcast Vancouver v. Toronto season opener was pre-empted by curling.

Reading lots of media-types hyping TFC to be a contender this year after just one game. Not sure if these are the same people who made the claim after TFC beat Seattle away in last season's opening game, and before they missed the playoffs for the hundredth straight season?

I will say this for Toronto: that Giovinco is a classy little player, and I could see he and Altidore splitting a lot of defenses this year and scoring a lot of goals.

I'm pretty disappointed with how easily Vancouver was shut down in the second half. Every team who bothers to scout us is going to sit deep against us this season, and we need a proper plan for that.
