kairparavel
I was listening to David Bowie on the drive into work the other day which led to my listening to Queen the past few days. And it's coming up on 30 years since Live Aid (Monday in fact, crazy) and Queen's greatest performance of all-time as suggested by many on the interwebs. In fact, probably the greatest rock performance of all-time in the estimation of some. All I know is I was a fourteen year old watching on TV and it was amazing. Melphis Amekia
I have, as of a couple of days ago, 'discovered' Breaking Benjamin(I actually heard about them some time before but forgot) and I've listened to all of their songs. I feel like their last album is the best and most refined one - I got all of the songs from that album(except the two instrumentals because they just didn't fit what I felt when I listened to their lyrical pieces.) and only a couple from the other albums. Here are the ones I like most, in descending order: Breaking Benjamin - Dance with the Devil (no. 5) Breaking Benjamin - Fade Away Breaking Benjamin - Close to Heaven Breaking Benjamin - Breath Breaking Benjamin - Hollow (no. 1)
Tears of Lys
I'll come out and admit I'm tragically behind the times as far as music goes. In fact, until tonight I hadn't even plugged the earbuds into my iPhone. Sad, huh? Well, the situation has been REMEDIED. I figured out where they were and plugged those suckers in, went searching on YouTube, and an hour later I've given myself a right old headache, but I'm floating on a cloud of pleasure. Don't laugh, but I started with the songs/artists I used to play the heck out of, which include: (don't laugh) Sergio Mendez & Brasil 66 w/Lani Hall, of course. Basia Trzetrzelewska and my favorite Police song... Synchronicity II. Probably the only Police song I really like anymore, actually. I shall proceed to Billy Idol, the Doors, Who, Rolling Stones, and on and on into Nirvana. (not the group. :D ) which brings me to my point. How the heck do you access your playlist after you create it on Youtube?

Elder Sister
Had a great music-filled weekend. Went to Memphis to see Todd Snider and Elizabeth Cook at Levitt Shell. And listened to Loretta Lynn's inspired Van Lear Rose album. It is pure genius.

Giovanni Gabrieli - Canzon Duodecimi Toni (performed by the Philadelphia Brass Ensemble) Reminds me so much of my childhood days... I should pick up the trumpet once again and play. OnionAhaiReborn
NPR has Jason Isbell's forthcoming album Something More Than Free up for streaming. I absolutely adored his last one, Southeastern, and after one listen I think I'm going to like and listen to this new one just as much. Not a single dud on it, so far my favorites are "Flagship" and "Speed Trap Town."
