ljkeane
That’s a stone cold penalty. VAR is such a waste of time. The Abramovich thing is presumably because he thinks his UK assets are getting seized and he hopes this is a way he can retain ownership of the club. Rorshach
As for VAR, I think we can sum it up as this: "VAR was a good idea, but the implementation has been a total Boris".
Rorshach
Quote “Not clear enough evidence to show conclusively that it was handball.” This is the explanation given by VAR operative Chris Kavanagh as to why he didn’t ask the referee to take a look at the monitor when the ball slapped onto Rodri’s outstretched arm in the City box I think we may safely conclude Chris Kavanagh isn't a good enough ref to be in the PL for a while. Iskaral Pust
So not only have City been awarded lots of penalties over the past ten games or so, but now they’re exempt themselves to boot.

There have been quite a few blatant penalties recently that we haven't been given. I don't think corruption is the issue, but incompetence abounds and needs to be dealt with. Liverpool get surprisingly few penalties, especially considering how many touches they have in the opponent’s box. The recent two awarded against Leeds stood out for their rarity value. Salah alone has been hacked down in the box in each of our recent games without getting anything.

Only Chelsea and City have more penalties than Liverpool this season - 6 - and that's only by 1, since they both have 7. That's a whoopsie daisy on the stat-check challenge, I guess? BigFatCoward
Surely what matters is how many penalties have been given compared to how many should have been? And that is too subjective to answer accurately anyway.

ljkeane
Not a huge surprise. He's been brilliant for them but sticking to his philosophy in the situation they're in has been killing them this season. They're deeply mired in the relegation battle now so something needed to change.
Heartofice
Very sad but needed to happen. Results have not been good. Hard to know how much of it has been the injuries problem and how much is teams working out how to beat Leeds.
