Viperblood
I'd be really upset if this become true.
Juan_Snow
I don't really see what about it means it really needs to be on cable, tbh. All of the best dramas are on cable or streaming services now. They just make better TV than the networks do.
polishgenius
All of the best dramas are on cable or streaming services now. They just make better TV than the networks do. NBC make Hannibal. All the ninja sex maybe? The removal of the ninja (and fairy) sex can only improve the story, tbh.

Yep, people are too lazy to write scrips so they steal them from books.

Howdyphillip
Yep, people are too lazy to write scrips so they steal them from books. Yeah !!! Because obviously those people who made 1.Gone with the Wind 2. Casablanca 3. From Here to Eternity 4. To Kill a Mockingbird 5. Doctor Zhivago 6. MASH 7. The French connection 8. The Godfather 9. The Exorcist 10. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 11. Terms of Endearment 12. The Silence of the Lambs 13. Schindler's List 14. Forest Gump 15. The Departed 16. Argo and 17. 12 Years a Slave were obviously nothing more than untalented hacks who were lazy and not creative.

Ha! i was thinking basically the same thing. The notion that scripts should not come from books, and if they do it means lazy writers is just.... odd...... Viperblood
Untalented hacks who were lazy and not creative? haeuhfewofijwq That's a good definition for most of series scriptwriters nowadays. But I wasn't talking about movies, sir. Actually, I'm sorry if I offended those works. I'm just not fond of books turning into series.
Darth Richard II
So, who wants to tell him what GRRM used to do?
polishgenius
It seems an odd statement to make in a context where you're seemingly using it to back cable over network tv, though. Given that the cable channels are just as likely if not moreso to adapt books.
Viperblood
I mean... I just don't like it. Am I being hypocrite? Probably. Will it affect the pillars of earth? No one knows.

Howdyphillip
1. Shogun 2. Roots 3. MASH 4. The Incredible Hulk 5. The Six Million Dollar Man 6. Dexter 7. Friday Night Lights 8. Boardwalk Empire 9. Lonesome Dove 10. Game of Thrones All of these were terrible huh? Now, here is my problem with them adapting the Kingkiller Chronicles right now. It is not finished. I personally do not want to see any series started on television that doesn't have a conclusion written. I was against the idea when GoT came out as well. I personally do not want to see any series started on television that doesn't have a conclusion written. I was against the idea when GoT came out as well. especially when they only have two books to go on. Not much of a head start -even for a trilogy. They have to ask for the popular opinion of 14 year old boys given that's how old the POV was at the time. Who know's who fits that bill.
