Okay, enough about trivial topics like politics and religion. Let's talk about the serious issues in life. Like about the fact that I now own not one but two pairs of red shoes. A shiny pair of red pumps and a cute pair of red suede Mary Jane flats with flowers embroidered on 'em. So what has shown up in your closet recently??

I posted these in the last shoe thread (which is several pages back and at 375 posts, so I suppose may as well have a new thread) but my most recent acquisition is a pair of Allen Edmonds McClains in Walnut. This pic isn't mine, but it has better lighting than I can get, so that's what you're getting.

I'm kind of on the prowl for a pair of black Chelsea boots, but so far I haven't found any I love at a price I'm willing to pay. These are gorgeous, but I can't bring myself to drop that kind of cash on a shoe I am only going to wear occasionally.

Trying to get womens shoes in large sizes sucks!

It's true, but there are specialty shops out there! http://www.prettybigshoes.com/site/shops/ I tend to look for wide shoes, not size 8+(IE), but a lot of these shops carry both.

ETA: I am so happy to be collecting my boxes o' crap, because it means I get the rest of my SHOES back. YAY SHOES.

Those are nice but I just can't pull off wearing boots like that. I'd look like Ted wearing his red cowboy boots.

Tell me about it. Large wide feet here. This is why I wear mainly men's shoes. Speaking of which...

I am a big fan of Allen Edmonds. We go to their factory once a year and I always get a few pairs there. Luckily my feet are the sample shoe size and they generally have some cool designs in my size that were never manufactured for the general public. Nicole Kidman actually wears a lot of their shoes since she has large feet as well.

My recent shoe purchases were two pairs of black boots. One is a gorgeous soft black leather pair that I found in the men's section of Nordstrom Rack marked down from $700 to $125. The other is a miraculous find on zappos...waterproof black suede wide width women's knee high boots. I was so excited to find them.

I just bought a pair of red boots. But because I beat the hell out of my feet at WorldCon last week, I am wearing hiking boots. Stupid feet.

Xray, do you find this relieves foot pain [generally]? [Or is it something specific you're using to them to alleviate?] I may have to invest in a pair.

I was actually just looking around for a new pair of boots. i'm down to two pairs, both of which are starting to get pretty beat up. I've been considering the Doc Martens For Life collection, because of the lifetime guarantee. Also on the list: Pair of patent leather Docs, vulcanized rubber Docs for rainy days and some extra-wide workboots by Doc Marten.

Nobody can ever accuse me of being disloyal to my brands.

Out walking last night, I spotted a shoe sale down the street which included some Fluevogs. Something to check out later today, if only to ogle.

Xray, those boots of yours looked great on! Did they really hurt your feet that badly? :(

There was a gorgeous pair of short, black Prada boots on sale at one of the discounters that I saw yesterday. Fortunately they only had one pair, in size 6.5, so I couldn't buy them for my ginormous size 10 feet. Damn good thing, since they were $595.00, and if they had had my size. . . . . .

i need to go shopping for a new pair of fall/winter boots. i'm thinking riding boots, black leather, low heal. very plain and simple. i can't imagine they'll be that hard to find. then again, simple doesn't seem to be the style these days.

Where do you live? I suggested Blondo boots to Baitac in her "what shoes to wear in London" thread.
