Mexal
I'm pumped for Sunday. I really hope Wenger goes with pace/directness against City. I want a front 4 of... --------------Sanchez---------------Chambo----Cazorla----Campbell That's my hope anyway. It'll probably be this though... --------------Sanogo---------------Cazorla----Rosicky----Sanchez I think we lose with this formation.

Alcibiades
The thread title reminded me of this bit from The Damned United. "Starting next week at the Charity Shield!"
Raja
I should really get around to watching that movie/ reading the book. Edit: This match can't come soon enough, I need something to distract me from the cricket.

Mexal
Posting this for the Arsenal fans.I got Howard Webb and Mike Dean confused. Our record with Dean is pretty horrendous. I think we have a 7% winning since 09-10.
MercenaryChef
so landycakes is retiring from the mls. his heart truly has not been in this whole football thing in a few years. he really has been a sensational face for the growing of the mls. his work for the usmnt in 2010 will never be forgotten. thousands of american kids grew up and wanted to be him. it is certainly time for him to go though. thanks, landon. Jeor
I got Howard Webb and Mike Dean confused. Our record with Dean is pretty horrendous. I think we have a 7% winning since 09-10. Yeah, Mike Dean is Arsenal's kryptonite. Really not sure what to think of ref records like that. To be honest of course most of the big teams will have a high win-loss record since they are simply better. And Liverpool's Webb record is because they had a few pretty bad seasons finishing 6th/7th etc in the last few years, so it's unsurprising that they don't come up well on that particular table. Arsenal's under Mike Dean is worse than Liverpool's under Webb, and Arsenal have been a better team in the last half a dozen years, so it does seem a bit more of an outlier but I honestly can't think that Dean is being sinister, it's probably a freak outlier. Grand Moff Mithrandir
Apparently we've made inquiries with psg regarding cavani :) won't happen in a million years but the fact that we're trying warms my heart. Also, BR should just pull out of trying to sign Moreno before we end up paying an unnecessarily inflated amount. Instead he should be looking to the versatile Daley Blind, I'm sure we could get him for a much more reasonable price.

Alex.
I hope everyone's as excited for the Europa League playoff draw as I am. Definitely. Always look forward to finding out where my mates teams are going on their winter holidays to play against opposition none of us have ever heard of. Spurs to Transnistria last year was a belter, but really anything east or north of the Balkans is a treat

polishgenius
Apparently Celtic might be getting through to the CL playoffs anyway because Legia fielded and ineligible player for the second leg (he was supposed to be suspended for the St Patrick's game but wasn't registered to play in it, thus negating the suspension, or something). Magical and romantic indeed. ETA: On the other hand, every single seeded team left should be disappointed if they don't get into double figures against this horrorshow of a Celtic team
