I actually don't know either, but I assumed we were talking about Abou Diaby.

So did I. Surprised he went through all those players and not even mentioning Diaby who's the worst culprit.

Never mind. When he returns, Wenger can hail him as "just like a new signing". Sometimes I think Arsene pays his wages just so that he can use that line every season.

From my understanding, he has told the club that he would take a significant reduction in wages due to his injury situations.

if you had to bet your life on a club finishing in a particular position who would you pick? my friend and i have narrowed it down to 3, burnley bottom, everton 7th or newcastle 8th.

Villa 17th

Vermaelen to Barcelona is now official. Good piece of work from Arsenal to get 15m for a 29 year old player in the last year of his contract.

Yeah, 15m was a great price and way better than 10m to United. Given that he was not going to be a starter for us, that's definitely a good bit of business.

I wonder who Wenger has lined up to replace him. He needs at least one more senior central defender. He might have designs on playing Chambers there eventually but he will need a reliable senior player to deputise there as a matter of urgency, given that Mertesacker probably won't start the season due to his World Cup vacation.

not confident of first for city? i fucking hope so, cos it's either that or jose the worlds biggest bell end asshat,

Ha, I'd never tempt fate like that! I'll leave the manifest destiny stuff to United fans.

In other news, me and my fellow blues look likely to get fucking drenched at Wembley today. Some proper mental rain on the menu.

Dortmund are further away from the start of their season so you do have to take it with a pinch of salt but it's encouraging how good Liverpool look going forward with the season starting next week.

ETA: And damn, they look really, really good. I'm starting to get unreasonably excited now.

Yeah, plus they have Bayern in the German version of the Community Shield on Wednesday and some are clearly saving themselves for that - but Liverpool's attacking play has been awesome at times. Coutinho and Sterling look almost telepathic.
