Why bring in Matt Forte when Trent Richardson is available?

There's so many good Alabama backs available. There's Trent Richardson. There's 300 lbs Eddie Lacy. There's TJ Yeldon - Jaguars could not have gotten to 5 wins without him. Derrick Henry just won the Heisman, he must be awesome.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong.

You're thinking of TJ Yates, dummy!

I'll pick Megatron to make it to Canton and I'll pick Peyton to win tomorrow.

Schefter is reporting that Marshawn Lynch is telling those close to him that he will be retiring. If both Johnson and Lynch retire, especially at 30 and 29 respectively, I think it's a definite sign of things to come in the league. More and more star players retiring young because of, I'm assuming, health related concerns.

Yeah, I think this is officially a thing at this point. I realize that much of the Niners players bailing out had to do with Harbaugh's departure, but I do believe that many players are acknowledging the CTE risks at this point. I imagine most of you guys saw the results of the Kenny Stabler brain autopsy. Another factor that strikes me is that guys of Megatron and Lynch's stature can afford to do this without much effect to their respective financial situations. I think that is going to make it a lot easier for aging blue-chippers to step away from the game.

Panthers 28, Broncos 17. No chance for Denver if Cam and company get up a few scores early with PFM's peashooter not able to go downfield. I'll admit that I'd like to see him go out on top to avoid seeing him in a Rams uniform next year...

The expansion of schedules from a 14 game season to a 16 game season certainly wasnt helpful for players health. Also the expansion of games in college schedules same problem. Theres no justification for putting any uncompensated athlete through the rigors of a modern college season. Preseason, reg. season, conference playoffs and then potentially a bowl or championship playoff .....amounts to the load of an NFL season,. A ridiculous cumulative pounding over 4 seasons for some of them before theyve even make the pros.

By the way, this mess is just starting, we will be seeing cases of college players suffering CTE disease soon enough. The ridiculous schedule is bad enough but I think going back to the game on grass would be safer as well. The impacts to surface and speed of on field collision are increased on artificial surfaces and hard turfs.

Bring the game back to grass and shorten these schedules before it self destructs altogether.
