Football: The grind begins

Chelsea is looking more like last years squad so far in the first half. Fabregas has been a threat with every touch, and I think our attack is at its best when we utilize two wingers. Pedro and Willian have done their job thus far. Morata looked shaky at first. Bad touch and passes were off. Finished strong with assist to Cesc and didn't screw up this header opportunity.

Mignolet dropped completely :dunno:. Cmon Karius :)

any reason why Welbeck is starting over Lacazatte?

Or chamberlain over kolasinac. The answer is no. Wenger sucks. Lacazette, welbeck and Sanchez could have been a fun front 3 and drop Ozil.

I think I am going to quit fantasy football...

Arsenal putting Kolasinac and Lacazette on the bench is baffling. I can see the appeal in Welbeck, considering he can run the channels and press well. I do believe dropping Ozil and for Welbeck would have been a better decision. This feels like the kind of game Ozil could end a passenger in.

Kolasinac's fun to watch as a fan but he doesn't seem particularly disciplined. I could see why you might look at the performance of the Liverpool front three midweek and be a little concerned about playing him as playing as part of a back three. I'd probably have been inclined to pick him as a wingback instead though.

He's playing the wrong position. He was the best LWB in Bundesliga last year and he's been playing CB here just to fit Chamberlain into the side out of position (or move Bellerin to LWB). It's stupid. If you want to play Chamberlain, play him at RWB where he's decent, put Bellerin on the bench (he hasn't been good at all this season and is a super limited RWB, much more suited to RB) and play Kolasinac in a position he'll be good at. Or start Kolasinac at LB. Either way, Chamberlain should not be playing in a game against Liverpool over Kolasinac if they're playing the same position.

I wish we'd go back to 4-2-3-1. I really hate this formation, how many players are out of position and how we play in it.

ETA: Looks like Chamberlain is at RWB and if that's the case, FUCKING PLAY KOLASINAC INSTEAD OF A RB AT LWB. Jesus fucking christ. It's not rocket science.

I don't think Wenger watched Liverpool midweek. Playing a back three without specialists in each position and two wing backs out of position against a team like Liverpool is just ridiculous after what they did to Hoffenhiem mid week.

Arsenal really should have reverted to a back four for this game.

Really don't understand why Lacazette and Giroud are sat on the bench. Sanchez and Welbeck/Ozil behind either Lacazette or Giroud would offer more goal threat. And also a top class specialist LWB in Kolasinac is sat on the bench too. Really weird team selection by Wenger.
