baxus
Watching Serbia vs Georgia was a pain. Georgia was actually a better team in the first half (I missed first 15 minutes or so), but that's not saying much. In the second, Serbia picked up the pace, had some rather good chances but failed to score and finally managed to break the deadlock around 70th minute. And then magic happens! Our manager takes out Mitrovic who set up the goal immediately, even before the ball is kicked off from the center spot and brings on a defensive midfielder to keep it 1-0. Against Georgia... AT HOME!!! We're going to get so thrashed next summer it won't even be funny.
lessthanluke
Wales just offered nothing in attack. Even in the last 10 minutes don't think we even had a shot on goal. No urgency at all.
Consigliere
The Australia/Syria playoff is tense as hell. 1-1 (2-2 on aggregate) going into the second half of extra time and Syria a man down. It's been all Australia for the entire game but they just cannot find that second goal. This has penalties written all over it. ETA. Finally, Australia get the second goal. Cahill is still the man. That should be enough for Australia unless they get sucker punched again. ETA2. Australia go through to the final qualifying round - just barely as Syria hit the post from a free-kick in the 121st minute which would have taken them through. If I'm not mistaken, their potential opponents would be either Panama, Honduras or USA.
The Wedge
2 hours ago, Consigliere said: If I'm not mistaken, their potential opponents would be either Panama, Honduras or USA. This is correct. Australia will play CONCACAF 4th place team. US can secure 3rd place and qualification with a win tonight at Trindad & Tobago. A tie would get them to 13 points and virtually assure them through, as well, since they are +5 on goals. Panama (-2) and Honduras (-7) are both at 10 points and would need to win by ridiculous scores against Costa Rica and Mexico respectively to leap the US in that scenario. The nightmare scenario for the US would be losing to T&T, while Honduras and Panama both win to leapfrog up to 13 points. It's not out of the realm of possibility. Dammit, why did I just type that. Here's hoping the US squad that showed up in Orlando against Panama shows up at the Ato Boldon Stadium tonight. The track is flooded and players are piggybacking across the water to get to the pitch. Ahh, CONCACAF; never a dull moment.

Philokles
Really hope the US don't make it because of Bruce Arena. The incarnation of all the unfair stereotypes Bob Bradley had to battle at Swansea last year.
Jordan La Cabra
Martinez hasn't risked Lukaku from that start, despite him being declared fully fit. Learned from his previous mistake with Fellaini.
Consigliere
Netherlands 2-0 up. Only five more to go without reply. And Portugal 1-0 up. As it stands they would qualify automatically.

A Horse Named Stranger
And Robben has retired from International football after the Netherlands failed to qualify for the WC. Not really a surprise. Let's see what will happen with the Dutch next. Now they can no longer hide behind Robben and hope for the best. On the bright side. The World won't end during the Presidency of Trump, as the Netherlands won't win a World Cup title (one of the signs for the pending apocalypse, somewhere around birds dropping from the skies). Winterfell is Burning
Messi is winning the game nearly single-handily. Meanwhile, in a game with two City goalkeepers, Bravo shows why he is the one on the bench and pretty much gives an assist for Paulinho to score.. Philokles
Unbelievable from Messi. Dragging Argentina to Russia single handedly. Big difference to Portugal earlier who showed they are more than Ronaldo with Bernardo Silva and Carvalho staring in their crucial win.
