Football: A League United

Well that was comfortably the most fun I’ve had watching Liverpool this season.

As we all said the other day; Cody Gakpo, brilliant signing. Clear game changer for Liverpool’s season.

ETA: Surprisingly measured post match analysis from Roy Keane. That’s not really on brand.

That went badly.

I only hope it's a blip and not the beginning of the effects of playing a match on average every 3 days since mid December.

We looked knackered. No intensity at all.

That’s hilarious.  Even when we’re utter dogshit all season, just sleep walking through the fixtures, we still managed to smash United during their best season in a decade

The season highlights DVD will be an easy one, at least.

So, what would Man United have taken? League cup win + losing 7-0 to Liverpool or no league cup win + not losing 7-0 to Liverpool.

Personally I could stomach losing 7-0 to Arsenal if we won the FA cup in the same season, but not the League Cup.

I'd rather have a trophy.

It was a terrible game for us but the worst we lost was 3 points and that was softened by Newcastle and Spurs also losing.

Can only hope that Liverpool go back to being shit next week.

I'd rather see things like that: hope that it's just tired heads and bodies, and be thankful that it happened after the Barca - Newcastle week, because otherwise it probably would have killed any kind of momentum.

Talking to my brother in Ireland, Americans have a really good deal on PL access: Peacock gives us all PL matches, and available to watch on replay, for just $5 a month.  And the commentary is usually quite good, e.g. Peter Drury plus Graeme LeSaux.  The post-match analysis is unwatchable, and Peacock does not have any of the CL (Paramount+), FA Cup (ESPN) or WC (Fox, I think, unless you watch the Spanish broadcast on Peacock).

But that all sounds a lot better than the expensive Sky package my brother has, with ever fewer games included.  I don’t think I would pay for the package he gets.

Thought Ireland had decent coverage but PL coverage in the UK is a scam, really.

It was great when I was visiting family in India - we had all the PL games included with Disney+ ( which was a bit odd)

I used to be for the 3pm blackout, but given the amount people pay for their coverage to not get half the games, it's a joke. If you want to protect the pyramid, make sure more of the TV money filters down.
