Snoop is in fact not giving up smoking, it was all a PR stunt for a Solo stove (which I'm guessing is smokeless, get it, since he said he was 'giving up smoke')

Is nothing sacred anymore?

I'd embed the Billy Madison Jeopardy scene in response to that nonsense but I've never learned how to do it.  And now, after watching Walsh's stupidity, I'm too dumb to even begin figuring it out!

This kind of bullshit rhetoric can only appear in this kind of format, a one man (I don't remember seeing any women doing this)  show with the "host" saying whatever he wants and no one is challenging him. If there was a normal person next to this guy, they'd say: "Oh, you know when people were most productive? When slave overseers would whip the skin off their backs for not meeting their quota. Should we bring that back, too?".

Btw, I don't think I've ever had productivity as one of measurements when thinking about where I want to live.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just last week, I was at my local coffee shop, where there's a clear 'No Smoking' sign, and yet, there was this guy blatantly smoking right next to the entrance. I remember feeling so irritated, not just for myself, but for everyone else having to walk through that cloud of smoke. It's like, come on, there are rules for a reason.

And I totally get the whole smoking-at-home issue. My dad smokes, and growing up, I couldn't stand the lingering smell in the house, on clothes, everywhere. It's not just about the smell, it's about how it makes you feel...

I often wonder why people stick to cigarettes when there are less harmful options out there. Like, why not try something that's potentially less damaging. Nowadays, there are many options, such as vapes or https://nexussmoke.com/collections/esco-bar. It's all about making choices that are better for us and the people we care about.

When we take our daughter to her gymnastics class, my wife and I sit in a nearby cafe to wait until she's finished. In Serbia smoking is still allowed in cafes, bars, restaurants etc. so we're kind of ready for the smoke and all. There are eight tables in the cafe, and only two people were smoking, one of whom smoked one or two cigarettes in an hour we were there. While we were inside I didn't really feel the smoke and the stench but when we went outside it really struck me. Man, do I hate it.

Yep. This repeal has really irritated me ever since it happened.

https://www.cigaraficionado.com/article/shreveport-louisiana-city-council-votes-to-repeal-smoking-ban-in-casinos#:~:text=In a rare move%2C the,been in place since 2020.

Why, why, why?  This was so nice while it lasted.

I can only assume there is a heavy correlation between smokers and gamblers, and in the end Shreveport was losing money?

You’d think the nonsmoking population would gamble on the Shreveport side of the river, while the smoking population would gamble on the Bossier side, but I guess us non smoking gambling population wasn’t enough for Shreveport’s profits? Shreveport Council you short sided jerks.

Edit: Also, as a reminder, if you’re ever in the area and want to gamble, do not choose Bally’s.  They are the jerks who paid me with a fake hundred.

There are many other casinos in the area that do not deal in fakes.

Maybe in European Union, but definitely not all Europe. Balkans are smokers' heaven.

A friend of mine became a father two days ago and yesterday a bunch of us went out to celebrate. The moment I stepped outside I was once again shocked by tobacco stench coming from my clothes.

I'm surprised. The ban took effect in 2010 around here and it feels like it's even longer, I barely remember clouds of smoke in pubs and restaurants anymore. I guess I just assumed we would be among the last countries to do it, given the ridiculous number of smokers in Poland. But perhaps EU indeed forced us to do it.
