TWOW will always be 2 years away.
But again, all we can do is hope for the best.

I think it'd have been kinda silly for Brienne to find the girls before actual professional bounty hunters would.
Why did Jaime give Brianne the assignment, then? Was she the only one he could trust?

I think Shadrich just got lucky.
With that kind of luck, he should pursue gambling for a living.

One war-mad boy king seems like a fair thing to have.
Although Charles XII had more valid reasons to go to war than Daeron ! did.
Charles had an alliance of three countries who wanted to bite off pieces of his territory. Daeron decided to conquer Dorne without being provoked.

Nobody else has figured it out yet, either, if they're being honest. I think Martin left it that way on purpose; so we would wonder.
It's quite frustrating that Brienne spends the entirety of AFFC looking for Sansa to no avail, while Shadrich finds her pretty much right away. Maybe that's intentional too.

She's been there since before I was born.
To be fair, she isn't actually in Meereen anymore. A small win, but a welcome one.
In all seriousness, though, if I was in GRRM's inner circle, I would tell him that it's impossible to please everyone and that he should just go with something. But that's simply not how he operates.

I first read it as “Is it true that Daeron and I had no issue”. I really need some coffee.

Who the hell is Jon Cupps?
Sounds like a bastard name from the Inn at the Crossroads.

I'm not sure GRRM will jinx ASOIAF by making it into a sci-fi ... though that's not stopping me from making my own speculations.
Things would be much better if the Masters of Meereen enjoyed podracing instead of gladiatorial combat.

I wish we could get inside his head a bit. Because it’s really hard to figure out what’s causing him so much trouble—is it anxiety, perfectionism, boredom?
Perfectionism is definitely part of it, which likely leads to some of the other reasons. This is what he said when he was writing Dance:
"Although I had "completed" something on the order of five Jon chapters before deciding to divide the book, I was never really happy with them, and rereading them now has reinforced my feelings. They need to be much stronger, and I believe I see how to do that now. "Now imagine this times ten for Winds, with both the audience and the expectations being much bigger.
I have critisized GRRM for a variety of reasons over the years. I still stand by some of them, others not so much, in hindsight. But I certainly do not envy him in this situation.

Yet, Patchface’s words never ring any bells for me.
His words are supposed to make sense after the fact. "Fool's blood, king's blood, blood on the maiden's thigh, but chains for the guests and chains for the bridegroom, aye aye aye" is foreshadowing for the Red Wedding, for example.

I was explaining the horrific violence of the tourney as suggesting it was a way to indicate that in the GoT universe this was a decadent period, and that was without the benefit of the Inside the Episode since I watched it early.
But Great noble houses, like the Starks, randomly losing members at a tourney without anyone caring is a bridge too far even for a period of decadence.

Well, it seems he sort of agrees with you. Hope springs eternal, here’s to both of you being wrong.
During the interview, which was excerpted on Reddit, Clare mentions that she has a book — The Ragpicker King — scheduled to come out in March of 2025. “The really depressing thing is that still may beat The Winds of Winter, who the hell knows?” Martin joked.
Yeah, that's a shame. He sounded way more optimistic a year ago.

If we're talking about the BBC show Merlin, maybe. I haven't seen it myself, but Merlin is supposed to be quite young there.

Anyway, I thought her handling of Harry was genius - he's hooked (as much as he can be from a first date), and she still has him at arm's length. I'm sure LF expected her to allow Harry some liberties to win his favour.
I really hope that we'll get more info in book form sooner rather than later.

The post I replied to presents Arya's murder of Dareon in a foreign state as something that fits completely with the values of the world George invented ... and that is just nonsense, sorry. My take is subjective, sure, but I'm not saying my subjective opinion of this or that event is expressing the underlying moral framework of the fantasy world we talk about.
As far as I'm aware, GRRM hasn't expressed any opinion at all regarding execution of oathbreakers. I haven't seen a quote, at least. My impression from reading the books is that he does subscribe to the principle of "He who passes the sentence should swing the sword", though.

That is a bunch of nonsense as the author is not in favor of executing oathbreakers nor is this a custom that prevails outside of Westeros. Dareon should and would be safe in Braavos from criminal persecution if some little girl wouldn't murder him insidiously.
I think the problem is that you often present your completely subjective opinions as absolute facts, with no room for debate. This is supposed to be a forum for discussion, at the end of the day.

Which she likely would have to do if she wanted to make a living among the common people/scum she is accustomed to live with both in Braavos and the Riverlands.
She never perceived them as scum, though. It’s made clear early in AGoT that she is more comfortable among commoners than among highborn people. She befriends Micah rather than Myrcella on their way to King’s Landing, for example.

I think that was a cop-out - new lands and new places give you nothing if you yourself feel (or are) rotten. Also, of course, a world-travelling 12-year-old girl is a joke.
As opposed to a 9-year-old travelling to another continent on her own to become an assassin?
How much does Shadrich know?

That would raise a lot of questions; Are there any specific criteria for becoming a professional bounty hunter? What institution hands out licenses? Do you need to take a test beforehand? Et cetera, et cetera.
