Lany Freelove Cassandra
Balsamic Pork Chops. They were amazing :) (they don't look like the picture, there isn't any sauce on the ones in the picture)
Xray the Enforcer
While TP and others will recoil at the improper use of the term char siu, the best way I can describe dinner is "char siu pulled pork." It's pulled pork, but cooked with the sauce that usually accompanies char siu pork (and especially char siu bao) in the US.

Though I wouldn't mind hearing specifics.Prepping for three cheese cannelloni here.

Xray the Enforcer
OK, so the char siu pulled pork turned out amazing. We had it over rice last night with sliced raw watermelon radishes and cucumber.Tonight, we got some pre-made steamed buns (the joys of living in a city with a very large Chinese population). Then I made a quick-pickle of regular radishes (sliced thin, massaged with lots of salt, squeezed, rinsed, and then dressed with fresh-squeezed lime juice and left in the fridge for 30 minutes), sliced fresh cucumbers, and made a shredded cabbage slaw (sliced thai chile peppers, muddled the chile slices with sugar, poured in some rice vinegar and some fish sauce, then tossed the sauce with the shredded cabbage). Goddamn. I could have eaten 1,000 of them buns.
