Rant and Rave without Repercussion [Book Spoilers]

Recommended Posts

My stream died during Dorne. I think my own PC was trying to save me. Maybe because yesterday I tuned it up :dunno:

"No, mistress... I cannot let you go through this... you make me suffer some questionable porn... but this is.. wrong".

So you prefer, being called mistress? Interesting!

Sorry, that was wrong of me. But I needed a good laugh at the moment. Hopefully, Penny Dreadful is good tonight.

Fuck, I seriously don't know what's happening to me. I'm trying to type my rant and I just can't, I'm so fucking mad and my gf is side-eyeing me right now like saying, "I can't believe I'm dating you, you damn weirdo"

*takes deep breath. GF stares some more*

Ok, I watch a lot of tv - a lot - and I can honestly say I'd never before watched an episode of tv with more inconsistent characters than this. And yes, I'm mostly talking about Ellaria and Selyse and Stannis, with a dash of Thorne. But mostly Ellaria. That woman is severely bipolar and requires treatment immediately.

That's all I can say, it's even exhausting to type this shit, I can't even rant anymore

Also. Why did Stannis burn Shireen on the word of Mel? Even ignoring the stupidity of Ramsay Sue and his Terrible Twenty, why trust Mel at all? SHE COULDN'T EVEN KILL FUCKING BALON!

[sigh]

BINGO!!! Hell, I'm so disgusted, I forgot about Balon, but I didn't burn my kid on the word of a 2 out of 3 sorceress either, LOL

I have lots of major rants but one nitpick

Dany "I hate these fighting pits" while concurrently getting very aroused listening to Darrio talk about fighting n the fighting pits. They cant even keep their characterization consistent sentence to sentence.

bahahaha!! 😆

I'm at a loss for words as well. I'm not even trying a big rant yet, but I am being side eyed by the hubby and the daughter. Luckily, they are taking me to the zoo tomorrow, maybe afterwards I can concentrate on this crap and letting it all out. I think you've hit on something with Ellaria. I'm not even sure if I, or Doran, believe her, or if we should? I'm too confused from the lack of sense and bad taste all around. I'm off to snuggle my way out of misery with the hubs. :P

The good thing about this episode is that it's probably what will unite the StanStans and the SanSans. My fandom OTP  .

The "oh this will happen in the books too" defense is thin. Very thin. It will make thematic sense and stem from logical character motivations. Not someone just up and burning their only heir.

Well written. I know I shouldn't say it in response to your post but remember they wrote troy or at least Benioff did. These people are what up jumped mediocrity look like.

I didn't hate Troy, but I had two main problems with it. Two problems that I also seeing in GoT, so I guess is this guy's signature:

1. He took the whole main theme of the Iliad, how the Gods play with us like we're beetles... and changed it into humans saying "fuck you, Gods!". How... ironic, lol. Both Hector and Achilles were practically "fuck the gods!"ing the whole movie.

2. He also turned the whole thing into the love story between Achilles and Madame Polignac. While Patroclus was his "cousin".

I disliked the show from the day one (in the books first Tyrion chapter starts with him reading a book, in show his first scene opens in a brothel. Yeah, just how small and insignificant that quibble looks now.) but I was optimistic that, aside from the constant sexposition, it will be worth watching.

Boy was I wrong.

While I started only hate watching it all a long time ago; this season was enough for me. I'm done with it. There's absolutely no plot-line, organization, character development or whatever that they hadn't butchered. I'm still seething about the whole Sanas situation so I was already planning to call it quites once the season ends.

But even so, I wasn't expecting this. This episode was filled with terrible decisions, total ignorance of who the characters are and what they would do, plot holes and plot line that make zero sense and casual violence toward girls.

It's so disgusting I can't even find words to describe it.

Also, I wonder what do they think they'll do next? After this do they really think, for example, that Jon will be willing to listen/work with Mel? And Stannis? How will his relationship with Davos continue? For that matter, has Stannis forgotten that the realm fought again the Mad King? And that even that insane, pyro King hadn't burned his own child? So, even if we are to accept that he's wiling to sacrifice his own daughter (and no, I'm not willing to accept that) should we also accept that he's a idiot who thinks that all lords will be okay with a king who would do such a thing? He's was already a kinslayer but that wasn't so public. And even if people believed he killed his brother? There was some reason for it. But this? Feeding his daughter to flames for some odd, foreign god? Oh, yes everybody will understand that.

And Dorne?

What the hell? Just what?

I'm curious to see how it all plays out with multiple characters as well. But, here's a guess: it won't. Everything will go on just fine as before, except for maybe with Davos.

Also. Why did Stannis burn Shireen on the word of Mel? Even ignoring the stupidity of Ramsay Sue and his Terrible Twenty, why trust Mel at all? SHE COULDN'T EVEN KILL FUCKING BALON!

[sigh]

Also, was there seriously a scene in which Nym and Tyene play the slapping game, or did the stupidity cause me to hallucinate?

You did not hallucinate. We were blessed with 5 minutes of a slapping game. All hail D&D.

Yup, they seriously do whatever they want from moment to moment, with no regard to anything else. They want something to happen, so it happens. And on it goes.

Balon's gonna die in the next episode, or at that the start of S6. Euron's confirmed.

Yeah but...shouldn't he have died, I don't know, before Stannis decided burning his one and only heir that he would do anything for in order to melt some snow? That way Mel's power would be a little more proven, at least?

Well written. I know I shouldn't say it in response to your post but remember they wrote troy or at least Benioff did. These people are what up jumped mediocrity look like.

I know. It is all depressing. This show hasn't been great since the second season. It's community 2.0. Well the 4th season was good at the end and the beginning even if it was average in the middle.

I agree but bite your tongue about Community :P You're right, they did have that "gas leak" but every other season has been great. No comparison to this shitshow.
