Do votes already submitted for Trump transfer to Pence?

Effectively, yes.

I'm just realizing that Ernst is on the Judicial committee (I should have know this). It seems odd that there are two states that are double dipping in the same committee. These states seem to have disproportional influence? I know the D/R split is the important one since everything is partyline, but not all states are equal and voters have different priorities that senators have to (theoretically) cater to. Why don't they split up the senators on committees?

Committee assignments are based largely on seniority, and different senators have different priorities.  The judiciary and foreign affairs committees are good if you have national ambitions, but not for your reelection chances - there's no money in them.  If both senators of a state end up on the same committee it's merely a coincidence.  The only one's I'd be concerned about in terms of undue influence is Appropriations and Finance.

Maybe an historical reference wrt to the Republican superspreader event.

"The virus on the grassy knoll".

Or the viral equivalent of the magic bullet.

A Zapruder-like film showing a single viral particle infecting everyone present.

Is that Kelly Loeffler just to the left of the Mike Lee label? Yeah? Hm!

Don't get too excited.  She's still gotta beat out Doug Collins anyway (which, honestly I'd prefer her).

Looks like Barr right in the middle of that pack in the front row.

Attorney General Barr chooses not to quarantine despite possible exposure to Covid-19

I bet he's the asymptomatic superspreader that caused all this.

Do we really think there wasnt at least one adult in the room saying 'if we are campaigning after a positive test and it gets out we are fucked'?

Are they really that insane?

The problem is that it doesn't matter how many adults are in the room.  Trump is going to do what Trump wants to do and if you're too annoying in trying to get him to do otherwise you'll be replaced by another yes man.

I haven't been able to formulate anything worthy out of it, but thinking about naming the Rose Garden event I can't help coming back to Seal's Kissed by a Rose.  Like in a kiss of death kinda way.  I dunno, for inspiration:

I think the part where there's real potential for chaos is trying to determine if write-in votes for Pence/TBD can be pooled with Trump/Pence voters, since there is no elector slate for Pence/TBD.

Good point, I have no idea how any state would deal with that, let alone 50 of them.  So, everybody, when Trump dies make sure to convince your GOP-leaning friends and family to write in Pence/TBD!

Sean Conley has taken back everything he said about Trump’s Covid timeline.

Another great The Weeds podcast, featuring a very angsty, apocalyptically-minded Norm Ornstein.

ETA:

@Fragile Bird Conley's not even the one who said "48 hours", that was a different doctor...

This White House communications shop is a complete zoo run by capuchin monkeys.

How so?  That the two of them were actually, legitimately, in contact with each other?  I'm not sure how much, if any, of the rest of his family was at the Rose Garden event.  Judging by this picture I can't see them on a quick glance.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your response. "Two of them"? I'm talking about the extended family which is more than two. The family would be around beyond just the Rose Garden event because they're family and you know, nepotism. People infected Saturday at the Rose Garden, then they all go around infecting between Saturday and now...

The docs reported today that Trump's been positive for 72 hours, not 36 as we've been led to believe meaning he went around knowingly infected if that's accurate.

The two of them was a joke in reference to Donald and Melania actually being affectionate with each other.  As for contact with his kids, just because the family is medieval in its nepotism doesn't mean they're in close physical contact with each other that much.  Hell, wouldn't be surprised if Melania and Ivanka had a mutually agreed upon social distancing policy well before covid.

I feel like there's at least a 75% chance that Trump gives Ivanka a nightly kiss on the lips before bed.
