Why don't they split up the senators on committees? Committee assignments are based largely on seniority, and different senators have different priorities. The judiciary and foreign affairs committees are good if you have national ambitions, but not for your reelection chances - there's no money in them. If both senators of a state end up on the same committee it's merely a coincidence. The only one's I'd be concerned about in terms of undue influence is Appropriations and Finance. The docs reported today that Trump's been positive for 72 hours, not 36 as we've been led to believe meaning he went around knowingly infected if that's accurate.
