Well, I am excited about a Dunk and Egg series, and I wasn't about other shows. There are different sorts of viewers out there.

D and E is more my kind of show.

It makes you think, while at the same time, there's laughter and a lightening of the spirit that even in difficult times, there's friendship and courage.

I like that GRRM went there with a more classic storytelling feel to these adventures, and think it would translate quite well to the screen.

(Live action for this one!)

I hope that no one from AGOT is involved with D & E.

But Benioff and Weiss certainly aren't involved.

I wonder why, though. By their own choice? They had to at least have been contacted about House of the Dragon and the other spinoffs. Not that I'm complaining that they're uninvolved

Not a big deal but since I saw it, I might as well share it. The filming for Dunk and Egg has been pushed back from Spring 2024 to Summer 2024.

Could have been changed from late May to early June for all we know. Probably not gonna affect its premiere date by much, if at all

They are working for Netflix these days.

And now Bittersteel

Ok, starting to smell like BS....  This one is clearly hinting at Henry Cavill.  lol

3 Doors Down's song Kryptonite ("If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?")

If they are casting Bittersteel, not to mention Shiera Seastar, who haven’t even appeared in the Dunk and Egg tales, then we must be getting a Redgrass Field flashback. Not sure why you think it is Henry Cavill. I would hope they wouldn’t waste him on a character who probably only has a brief cameo. Much better to use him in HOTD.

I think they'd get in trouble if there was too much explicit use of them. But I wouldn't be surprised by the occasional homage. Dunk finding Egg on his horse, for example, was always a great image.

I bought the 2025 ASOIAF calendar. The castle illustrations are beautiful, but they really must be trying to build hype for Nymeria, because 1/3 of the castles were in Dorne.

Mine was delivered yesterday. ♥ I only just now noticed someone falling from the Bridge of Skulls.

"I never win anything," Dolorous Edd complained. "The gods always smiled on Watt, though. When the wildlings knocked him off the Bridge of Skulls, somehow he landed in a nice deep pool of water. How lucky was that, missing all those rocks?"

"Was it a long fall?" Grenn wanted to know. "Did landing in the pool of water save his life?"

"No," said Dolorous Edd. "He was dead already, from that axe in his head. Still, it was pretty lucky, missing the rocks."

Kind of a side-tangent, but I’m guessing some people here have played Hogwarts Legacy. One thing I really love about that game is that it lets you explore the whole interior of the castle. I would love it if they one day did something like that for ASOIAF (Winterfell, the Red Keep, etc.) because I have a hard time envisioning it in my head.

Yes!! I would absolutely love an open-world asoiaf rpg game. Westeros is so huge though, I almost wonder if it would be better as an online game? Each region would be a separate zone for players. While I do typically prefer online games, I have to admit Hogwarts Legacy is so peaceful and tranquil because you don't have to deal with other players. It makes the story and exploration feel more personal.

I would love to visit the Vale and the Eyrie, but the voices in my head would win and I'd throw myself out the Moon door.

Edit: where in HL we can fly on a broom, hippogriff, or thestral, we would instead fly a dragon. that would be pretty damn cool, especially if we could unlock various colors and features.

I could be wrong but I have a feeling GRRM never took the time to map out the location of the different element of his castles (keeps, towers, halls, courtyard, etc..). Obviously he would not do that for all the castles only for the main ones.

If one day he decided to release his sketch of Winterfell or the Red Keep with the disposition of all their different buildings that'd make my day (a bit like this fan made map of Winterfell on the Wiki).

One other thing that would make my day, would be to see a map of Driftmark and Dragonstone with all the locations correctly located: Dragonstone castle, its fishing villages, the Dragonstone harbor, the Dragonmount, High Tide & Spicetown, Driftmark Castle & Hull, the shipyards, the lands of Daemion Velaryon (if those did not reverted back to the main branch in time), etc. A man can dream.
