Looks like Biden told him in no uncertain terms to stop that nonsense. Quote Johnson will make it clear that the government has never suggested scrapping the protocol and that there will always need to be a treaty in place between the UK and the EU that prevents a hard border on the island of Ireland. He will also recognise the need to protect the integrity of the EU single market. Let's see how long this new found conviction to honour international treaties lasts. More seriously though, the US CDC says " In Africa, monkeypox has been shown to cause death in as many as 1 in 10 persons who contract the disease." I hope that is mostly because of a lack of access to medical care, because if that translates more generally, that's quite scary. Fortunately it seems transmission is somewhat more difficult than COVID, but you wouldn't want a significant outbreak. Also from CDC "Currently, there is no proven, safe treatment for monkeypox virus infection. For purposes of controlling a monkeypox outbreak in the United States, smallpox vaccine, antivirals, and vaccinia immune globulin (VIG) can be used."
