Please go to Chelsea, toxic dressing room are bad for teams chasing the top 4.

I mean, as fake as that Ornstein tweet was, Boehly's desire to sign Ronaldo is apparently real. People say Tuchel's refusal to sanction his signing was a big part of him getting the sack.

So we shall see. Can't tell you how entertaining I find the prospect of a dressing room-destabilising pissing contest between CR7 and Aubameyang.

How exactly would they maintain/establish positive work culture if they let this slide? What would stop every single player from throwing a tantrum likes this to have their contract terminated when they want to leave? How would they ever sell anyone?

The underlying assumption is that if you have a really good culture, be it at a large tech firm or a pro sports team, then you won't have to deal with this regularly, and that by dealing with this situations quickly you'll maintain harmony with everyone else. It obviously doesn't always work out that way, the goal is aspirational, but not unachievable.

Anyways he's out now and the club will be better off.

That's what is done extremely well in ice hockey - IIHF keep close track on boxscores, refs' reports, players' injuries etc. and they analyse that data and release rule clarifications every year, with new version of the rules being released every four years, after the season in which Olympics are held. They keep track constantly and react when needed.

I think a lot of leagues do this to be fair. And I don't think the rule is unclear even. I'd just like to change it to allow for a more open style of play. It's really fun in tennis, for example, when the Hawkeye tech shows us the ball was just in or out by a sliver. Personally I just don't like it with offside. Like I said yesterday, a really fun goal was called off because on review obviously the player was offside by a good deal and I'm fine with that. I just hate the calls that make you have to squint to see if they were and even then you're not always entirely sure.

Btw, travelling is tolerated only in the NBA, not in Europe. ;)

They also let you goaltend in Europe to some extent. Honestly one of the funniest things to watch in sports is when American players are playing under international rules for the first time.

But turns out most of us are watching anyway.

Because boycotting does nothing if you're just going to turn around and consume all of FIFA's other content. Blood Cup is happening, might as well enjoy it. Or quit it entirely. Half measures achieve nothing.

Oh yeah, I agree with you.  And was always going to watch.

Just saying that I got the impression that a lot of people here were skipping it.

Skipping it until they felt that tingle in their leg that inspired Chris Matthews.

I'm aware next to no one here will get the reference.
