Wilbur
Brentford scores off a handball by Ben Mee, VAR looks at the goal, VAR awards the goal. Wut?

I didn't see the ball touch the hand. And his arm was in a natural position. Edit: regardless Liverpool's defending has been bad. Edit 2: 3rd time is the charm

The replays showed his hand bending back as the ball hits it, but it doesn't matter because the Tricky Reds a playing like they are still hung over. Dull as a three-month-old razor. Not clear it hit his hand which is why it was given. Brentford has also had two goals taken away by VAR.
Rorshach
Liverpool riding their luck on defensive set pieces? I'm not watching, but that's unusual. Under Klopp, they've been solid at the back and very dangerous up front.
A Horse Named Stranger
In other news. Haller back with the team for the first time since his cancer diagnosis, two surgeries and chemotherapy.

Wilbur
Liverpool are missing a sense of urgency. Sadio Mane always had it, and so do many others in the squad, but it was absent today.

Rorshach
Well, back in the day Suarez could miss any chance you gave him, and DCL couldn't score in a brothel. So it's early to conclude.

Iskaral Pust
Liverpool control long periods of possession but routinely fluff their dangerous opportunities. And throughout each game they are very open and vulnerable to attacks, whether direct counterattacks or crosses from wide. This season will continue to be a write-off. A big factor is an end of the cycle for this group of players. It’s a mix of age, burnout and complacency. Milner, Henderson, Mane, VVD, Firmino among others lost pace, stamina and drive. But TAA’s positional complacency and Fabinho’s running through treacle shows that it isn’t just about age or injury. Obviously the MF is badly lacking the right players, but it also doesn’t help that Jota and Diaz — two hungry, direct forwards — are missing while Darwin flails, Firmino is out again and Ox Carvalho or Jones make negligible impact as a left forward. There is also a tactical staleness: opponents know their best probability tactics against Liverpool. Sure, Liverpool can tighten up and adapt, as they did two years ago when it looked like teams had figured them out (remember that thrashing by Villa?), but they’ve lost the intensity and hard-running that made the high line & pressing so smotheringly effective. Now Liverpool are routinely out-run.
A Horse Named Stranger
That probably is down to some extent to the uniqueness of this season's schedule. Pre-season is the time when the foundations for the seasons are laid. Physically and tactically. The Qatar event cut the pre-season short. Add to that a shortened of season for the players to recharge and you can to some degree explain it.
polishgenius
Ignore the fact that the dude is pretending it puts him on KDB's level, I just saw this pass by Amad Diallo for Sunderland on loan, and it's incredible. Shame the forward's touch let him down.
