Tijgy
The Warlord Chronicles. Cornwell's most incredible work. That are the Arthur series, no? I read them zeven/eigth years ago in Dutch. And I bought the first one in English a year ago. But I never can go past the first thirty pages :blushing: . The problem is I have read a lot of retellings of the Arthur story and if I remember correctly the Warlord Chronicles were not really my favorites of those retellings. (The first ones books I read from BC were the Saxon Stories ;-) ) I loved the first ones of the Saxon stories very much. The best stuf is when Uthred is mocking all those saint's stories. But after Alfred died, I also actually find them also less interesting. I think Alfred is very interesting historic figure. I have a lot of trouble to sympathize with Alfred's daughter. I only cared for her when she was younger. However Uthred's daughter really rocks in the last book. But in the end, my favorite of all the BC's stories is Gallow's Thief. Werthead
I don't think they're adapting the wrong series, because I don't think the BBC can bring enough firepower to do Warlord Chronicles justice. I'd much rather see it on somewhere like HBO, maybe as a post-Thrones project?
Lord Syv Aldlark
Sweet I enjoy this series. A Grail series mini series would be nice
Myrddin
Guy Richie is doing an Arthur project (with SAMCRO's Jax as the once and future king). Maybe they don't wan to start a competing historical based Arthur project?
Which Tyler
Not to mention that it's too soon after Merlin for the BBC to go back there just yet. Mostly though, I agree with Wert; the Warlord chronicles need more money thrown at them than the BBC can muster.
Talleyrand
Sweet I enjoy this series. A Grail series mini series would be nice Probably for the best they don't go for that - unless you want Crecy represented by 30 guys standing on a hill shooting arrows at 40 guys climbing up a hill

I'd much rather see it on somewhere like HBO, maybe as a post-Thrones project? I don't know, I don't think they ever had any actual big battles. I might be misremembering, but I thought the main warband fights were ~100 people at most.

James Arryn
Like others, the Arthurian series were my favourite BC, though I am pretty into Arthurian reading anyways. Sharpe, Uhtred, Thomas of Hookton, etc. I all love, and Sharpe brought me in, but The Warlord series will be hard to top. I'm very excited about this series, though I'll be travelling for several months so probably have to catch up come winter. Uhtred, I always thought the guy playing Thor fit. Really, huge and blond is all it takes.
