lwhitehead
Hi I'm fan and hopeful Writer inspire by the Song of Ice and Fire series I would like to write a series based on the 16th Century. An era of the Reformation of the church, of Condottieri, Canon and Firearms and end to Knighthood. For my main church like in our world it's Sol Invictus, LW

giant snake
The Noche Triste was pretty epic. So was the siege of Malta, the wars of the reformation, and the exploration of the Congo. Some history is so momentous that it would seem fake otherwise.
Zorral
Not to mention the exploration of the New World, where all of Europe collided in their rivalry to claim as much of it for their nation, while personally making a fortune and reputation. Lots happened in the 16th century everywhere. And all of it happened for a hundred years! So it's even different, particularly the end from the beginning!
Larry of the Lawn
Should probably include pirates.

Spockydog
Make sure you have plenty of characters named Thomas. Everyone was called Thomas during the Reformation, even those who weren't.

lwhitehead
I would really like to work on this as a novel series but it's is a large chunk of history to work from and many nations as well, Warhammer Fantasy has parts of the 16th Century touches too it, LW
Larry of the Lawn
Maybe if you selected a smaller chunk of history, or even one with fewer nations, the task would be less.gargantuan. for example a series set in Pangea would likely have a more manageable political scope.
