  1. Past hour
  2. Ah, I didn't actually even think how that word would be interpreted.....I'd forgotten how the show confirmed her as extremely old and disguising it with a glamour. I was simply referring to the fact that she can't really physically fight any more than somebody like Sansa, and that she'd be very easy to kill via physical means. I DO think that she's probably very old and there's open hints that she's using a glamour in the books, to the point that she specifically mentions show a glamour can be linked to a piece of jewelry like a ruby (which is what she always wears around her neck.) I think that her being extremely old is more likely than simply trying to disguise who she is or hide her slave face tattoos, which she would undoubtedly have.
  3. KAT tired Joker out in part because he could rest and had others who could also guard him. And Ant actually weighs more than Luka and is likely a lot stronger and clearly more athletic. Plus he has an army of wing defenders to give him some rest. The Wolves don't have to shut Luka and Kyrie down, they just need to slow them or choose to try and nuke Kyrie while letting Luka get his stats. This is why it matters that after those two the Mavs don't have a lot else while the Wolves can throw so many different line ups at them and the Mavs likely won't have a counter.
  4. Lie on your arm for ten minutes beforehand and it will feel like somebody else is holding it.
  5. Yesterday
  6. Started playing Diablo IV Season 4 this morning [haven't touched it since S2] and they've totally revamped the gearing system. It's much, much better They've also tweaked the ilvl itemization a fair bit from what I've been able to glean. Having fun. edit: and I'm 50 already. so the levelling has been upped dramatically as well
  7. New Zealand and Australia already are independent states, and have been for a very long time at this point (over a century in Australia's case, NZ is complicated and doesn't have a fixed date? Learnt something new today)... So not sure what an independence ballot would achieve regardless of who you allow to vote.
  8. Does this mean that there will be a bidding war between Munich and Chelsea for Kompany?
  9. China was likely never going to reach that goal (and we also don't know just how accurate their real internal numbers are), but yeah, they may have tried this way too soon. Their own economy isn't in a great spot and their main allies are not that strong for the most part. Obviously we have no idea what will also happen with the West's main alliances, but as of now they're in a much better place.
  10. Ah that is maybe the most important thing there is, that our weirdnesses be compatible!
  11. Oh, imho, either only Kanaks can vote on independence, or every single French citizen living in New Caledonia can vote. That said, if the former goes, then one could easily argue that the same should go for Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, and most probably other places as well. The definitive and ultimate demise of any soft power in the West is quite something to behold. I would've never expected it to happen that fast, and with Western leaders being that oblivious about it.
  12. And this is why I remain currently unmarried; no one over the past 10-ish years has accepted my foibles.
  13. China's military budget also goes significantly further in purchasing power parity than the USA's does: China mostly deals with internal, state-owned, state-subsidised or state-sanctioned arms companies that they can simply order to do things and they do it, unlike the USA's insane procurement systems. China's industrial capacity is also, for the moment, notably superior to the United States'. One model I've seen people mention is that if China fights a war for Taiwan and loses, the US would lose significant material as well. China would simply be able to bounce back and try again, and probably win, within 2-5 years whilst the US would still be gearing up to rebuild. China is currently ramping up its navy at a rate that should give it superiority over the entire US navy within 5-10 years, and certainly regional parity to superiority should be achieved sooner. This does depend on Chinese economic prospects though, which are being constantly revised downwards; the current "authoritarian axis" has basically made its move at least ten and maybe fifteen years too soon, they should have waited until China's economic superiority was much more firmly entrenched. As it stands China's economic highwater point might be approaching much sooner than expected, and the USA has the capacity for additional economic expansion which China might not be able to match.
  14. Which is saying something since there hasn’t been a shortage of such moments. In other news, this just popped up n my feed. https://responsiblestatecraft.org/americans-serving-in-israeli-army/
  15. Me too! Damn you, Board! Appropriately, I was just listening to this classic Nirvana song:
  16. Sometimes I join him out of pure laziness, but I can never make it more than 2 days in a row, maybe 3 if I’m lazy and sick or ultra busy. I’ll never understand it but I respect his right to be weird about his food - or whatever else he feels like being weird about -
  17. Meteor in Portugal makes the night sky blue as day.
  18. Do it with your left! It will probably be even more difficult but it’s a great brain exercise!
  19. That's my own personal hell. But on the upside, it must be hella easy to plan and prepare meals.
  20. For all those observing how fucking boring and horrible it would be to eat the exact same meal day in, day out forever… meet my dear spouse. He’s been having the same fucking meal practically every night for at least a decade. Spaghetti w/ very spicy tomato sauce. Fine, I can accept it, he really likes it and I can have whatever I want. But the best part is, until a couple of years ago, no pasta shape other than spaghetti was allowed. -“But it’s the same thing, only the shape is different!” -“Nope.” At least now you can on occasion spot a pack of farfalle or fusilli…
  21. Yes, however I made one large oversight. It's on my right middle finger with a bandage on it that I'll probably leave on over night. It makes some things in the bathroom... difficult... as I'm finding out.

  23. This is where I am with Dak. If he balls out and Dallas does something, like NFC champ game, in the post season then yeah, we gotta pay him again. If half the season goes by and Dallas is a .500 team I say bench him and put Trey Lance in (assuming he does good in preseason work). Then let Dak walk at the end of the season. The problem in Dallas as I see it now is that we have no run game so Dak will likely put up big numbers again and look like he deserves a big contract even though we don't win anything. On an side note, I would try to trade Lance or Cooper Rush in the preseason for a good RB. Salary cap wise we probably could save some money doing it and strengthen our team. Lance is due 5.3 this year and Rush 2.3. Either one is enough cap space for a legit RB, not a stud, but a legit starter.
