jacksonbrowne
Many many many more people all round the world love Michael Bay movies too. Appeals to popularity as an excuse for lack of consistent story telling or character development or plot coherence or even basic common sense doesn't cut it with me. Note that up until this season I had mainy positive views on the show, and I suspect many of the 'haters' posting on here are the same. This episode degenerated from merely bad to downright embarassing. The atrociously choreographed fight scene marking a new low. You know what people that do NOT like Michael Bay movies usually do NOT do? Planting their asses into Transformer forums, watching every Michael Bay movie, no, scanning every Michael Bay movie with a fine toothed comb, downloading every early leak of a Michael Bay movie and then come to Transformer forums to insult Michael Bay personally and every movie and everything in general Michael Bay has ever done and insult everyone that disagrees with their assertion about Michael Bay movies and accuse them of being a troll. They usually don't care enough to waste their lives watching a Michael Bay movie and thus have really no opinion of a Michael Bay movie. This is how people disliking Michael Bay movies differ from people that like A Song Of Ice And Fire and have irrational, pathological hatred towards Benioff and Weiss. jacksonbrowne
1/10. A play with cheesy sets and blatantly fake dragons would be better than what they have produced with all of the money available to them. I hope the show quickly loses too much of its audience for HBO to justify continuing, but that won't happen, and we would probably get a sixth season even if the last four episodes this season tank. What is it to you if the show continues or not? You know how you can have the show not continuing?Do.Not.Watch.It.And.Shut.Up.It's really easy, you can live the rest ot your days happily ever after ignoring blissfully that such an abomination called Game of Thrones ever existed. Or is it not enough? Do you OWN the source material? Are YOU the person that has the moral right to judge if such a show should be made? Are you entitled to have the show you dreamed in your head and if the show is not THAT then NOBODY should see the show?Let me reprise:Do.Not.Watch.It.And.Shut.Up. I think if Michael Bay 'adapted' James and the Giant Peach, and slo-motion blew everything up, and you were a giant Roald Dahl fan, you may have issues with that too... Modesty Lannister
In that case, you do not understand well. I cannot reemphasise that I wasn't disappointed when I myself explained in a post why I was disappointed. And I never said anything about anybody being odd, so please stop making guesses about what I think or don't think, if that's possible. Thank you :) If you do not want to be misunderstood, then phrase your questions more clearly next time. As I said, people took their time to explain their positions as always. One just has to read what's written.
jacksonbrowne
I think if Michael Bay 'adapted' James and the Giant Peach, and slo-motion blew everything up, and you were a giant Roald Dahl fan, you may have issues with that too...I simply wouldn't watch anything Michael Bay had adapted - funny you felt the need to say it 'adapted' - why the irony? Is it suddenly not an adaptation now? And where is the Game of Thrones equivalent of slo-mo and blowing everything up?And I certainly would not go on forums implying Michael Bay is a thinly veiled pedophile. The problem with building strawmen is that they usually leave the fellows setting them up looking like morons. Dragon in the North
I gave it a 9. Braavos: I loved all the Arya scenes and thought they were the best parts of the episode. I enjoyed the Game of Faces and that Arya likes the Hound, even though she won't admit it. I also thought the scene with the dying girl to be extremely impactful. Arya is learning that death is a gift and not just an instrument of revenge. The set design for the Hall of Faces was amazing! Jorah and Tyrion: I liked how they fixed one of the problems of ADWD and had Tyrion mention Jorah's father. Tyrion's interaction with the slavers is probably the most I liked him this season. He reminded me of the old Tyrion again. King's Landing: Littlefinger's plan is genius and makes complete sense now. He's sowing the seeds of dissent and are waiting for his enemies to wipe each other out before he swoops in and takes his prize. I found the trial to be interesting. Show Cersei is much more capable than Book Cersei, who is completely crazy at this point. So far I like the change and can't wait to see how all her schemes blow up in her face. Dorne: This was the one misstep for me. The Sand Snake fight was my least favorite fight scene in the entire series, but it didn't ruin the entire episode, imo. I think one of the mistakes made was giving the Snakes unconventional weapons, which made the fighting a little clunky. I didn't like Dorne in the books either so my expectations were extremely low. On the plus side, though, I think people can stop calling it Porne, due to the significant lack of nudity. Winterfell: I disagree with those saying that the Sansa rape was only for shock value. I'm sure there is going to be a purpose. I still consider Sansa to be a victim in the books because she is under the influence of a man who is responsible for her family's destruction and who is manipulating her at every turn to get what he wants. This will probably be the driving force that severs Sansa's allegiance to Littlefinger and Theon's allegiance to Ramsay. I also disagree with those who are saying that they should have kept closer to the books. If they had adapted the books scene, there still would have been controversy surrounding it, perhaps even more so, since it's 100x more graphic in the books. The Knight in Motley
It feels like they had maybe 2 hours at that location to film ALL of the Dorne scenes for season 5, so they ended up doing 1 or 2 takes for each scene and just hoped no one would notice. I've seen fights at Ren Faires that were better choreographed than the one in Ep. 6.

Aslerys
5 Honestly, I wanted to give it a 1 because of what they did to Sansa but the rest of the episode wasn't that bad apart from the Dorne scenes that were cringeworthy so...
SerJeremiahLouistark
Wasn't nearly as bad as last week's shitty show, but still pretty terrible.
The_Watcher_On_The_Walls
I have to give it 10/10. It was a really well rounded episode that ended up hitting me right in the feels, even though i've read the books thrice.
Lord Godric
I find it a little ridiculous how skewed the numbers are here for the entire episode. The episode itself was okay, I gave it a seven. I think they botched the Loras inquest scene, the Dorne stuff was disappointing. But overall it was okay. As for the ending, I think people are overreacting because it was Sansa, and that's all. Grayven
4. Arya +4, Tyrion/Jorah +2, Loras 0, Sansa/Winterfell +2.. and the Dorne scene was worth a series-low MINUS 4.
The Anti-Targ
I was mostly bored throughout the episode. Spending most of the time thinking "Yes, yes get this scene over with so we can move on." It had some good bits, Arya set up is coming along. I just rolled my eyes through most of Kings Landing, though I did kind of enjoy seeing Cersei handle Olenna. Olenna went in thinking she had this, but Cersei gave it back. This was all a very convoluted way of getting Margaery in prison and was hamfisted compared to how things went in the book. Basing the whole thing on homophobia in the church is so cliche. Chekov's birthmark aye, shoulda seen that one coming. What a major turn up with Sansa being raped in front of Theon. Not a fan of Sansa's story going in that direction at all. Very dramatic, but just not a consequence of the cuts and changes that I can accept. Would have been OK with Sansa doing her wifely duties with a lie back and think of England face. But I guess just being subject to that level of unpleasentness isn;t enough justification to get that candle in the window of the broken tower. If they had more time they could have had Sansa's desire to escape on a slower burn rather than for it all to come to a head on the wedding night itself. Sophie Turner is now legal in terms of on-screen nudity I assume (19 going on 20). I wonder if they have contracted her to do at least one topless scene. Not sure how I feel about that if it happens. She certainly showed way more skin this episode than in any previous episode. If it's in context of some Ramsey abuse it would have a huge dramatic impact. It would feel rather like a kick in the guts. The bad outweighed the good on first watch, so this is the first sub-5 episode for the season. Perhaps suffering from mid-season-itis. Will be interesting to see if this has a commentary reel on the blu-ray and who is doing the commentary.
The Monkey
The Dorne shit was bad, but I did like Bronn singing. Like most of the Arya stuff, and the Tyrion/Jorah plot line. As for Sansa's rape....It was certainly brutal and harrowing to watch, but it could very well turn into some interesting character development on her part. But I think that's part of the problem: they are using rape as a way to make interesting character development. Book Sansa has just as much interesting character development as she learns to really play the game--all of which happens without a sexual assault. Her WOW preview we got from GRRM shows how adept she's becoming and it she does it all without having to be raped. People are claiming that now Sansa is going to be seeking revenge hardcore but...she didn't need motivation to take down the Bolton's. She has all the motivation she needs after the Red Wedding. That's why I see the rape as gratuitous and more in line with D and D's now trademark torture porn.

Count Balerion
Season 5, episode 6Even though the inquest scene and parts of Winterfell were excellent, I'm going to have to give this a 7. I'm deducting (gee, speech recognition; that was hard, wasn't it) because 1) the going was rather slow, especially in the first third or so; 2) I promised myself I would take off points if Sansa got raped or tortured. I grant that it is plausible (even probable) that Ramsay would do either, or both, of these things; and it may even be in WOW for all I know. But Sansa has suffered enough.I did enjoy Sansa calling out Myranda and showing her she wasn't afraid, and her exchange with Theon.I thought KL was really quite good this time. The tension is mounting there at least. Now will QOT take down Cersei? I suspect that Lancel, who knows quite a bit about Cersei's past shenanigans (and alluded to them at the beginning of the season), will help bring about her downfall. Dorne was better this time. It remains the weak link of the season, leaving aside the Iron Islands and Riverlands, which don't feature at all. I still object to Ellaria insisting on the futility of vengeance in season 4 and wanting Myrcella dead or mutilated in season 5.Tyrion/Jorah was OK, with a nice reminder of the Old Bear (speech recognition thought I'd said Old Beer). So was HOBAW (especially the Waif), although I confess I don't much care for that storyline even in the books.
