Governors in red states keep pointing to their hospital bed capacity to defend pushing reopening faster than they should, but are their plans really to force hundreds of thousands of Americans to file bankruptcy due to medical bills? The ones that live, that is.

Not just that, let's be clear.  Joe Scarborough was a Gingrich Republican.  Then resigned, and within 3 years later launched a cable news show entitled Scarborough Country which was almost as influential in the premise of the parody for the Colbert Report as Bill O'Reilly.  Until Joe saw the writing on the wall, he was just as big a piece of shit as every other Dubya-era GOP fuck.  And then some.  He gets no points from me.

People shouldn't forget that Joe and Mika gave Trump a very friendly platform back in 2015.

Yeah.  They did stop it "relatively" early with the David Duke shit but that was...what, December 2015?

Something like that. Way longer than it should have been anyway.

from Trumps official campaign facebook group. Like holy shit.

staying classy with NSDAP iconography. he's too dumb to know the significance, though.  this is after all a guy who obsessed over an elton john record at a nuclear summit.

Weekly first-time unemployment claims were 1.5 million last week; higher than expectations of 1.3 million. Continuing claims were 20.5 million, a decline of 62,000 from the previous week.

Seems like a sign that the reopening is already slowing down.

Never thought it was possible to be so scared of someone who is so obviously a buffoon.

Big immigration decision from SCOTUS. In a 5-4 decision they blocked the cancellation of DACA. Roberts was one of the 5. The WH argued Obama did not have the authority to do what he did, the SC disagreed.

Surprising. Good for Roberts. The decision line-up is a little complicated:

Quote

ROBERTS, C. J., delivered the opinion of the Court, except as to Part IV. GINSBURG, BREYER, and KAGAN, JJ., joined that opinion in full, and SOTOMAYOR, J., joined as to all but Part IV. SOTOMAYOR, J., filed an opinion concurring in part, concurring in the judgment in part, and dissenting in part. THOMAS, J., filed an opinion concurring in the judgment in part and dissenting in part, in which ALITO and GORSUCH, JJ., joined. ALITO, J., and KAVANAUGH, J., filed opinions concurring in the judgment in part and dissenting in part.

But for the most part its a 5-4 decision with Roberts joining the liberals. I haven't parsed all the details, but based on SCOTUSblog, it seems that the part Thomas/Alito/Gorsuch agreed to is a very small aspect of the decision. I'm not sure if Kavanaugh agreed with slightly more of the decision or even less of it.

Is this on a Trumpian scale?  Cuz, psh.  Although divorcing your second wife to marry your cable news morning show cohost does deserve some extra points.

But it's a step down for a Gingrich Republican.

As he didn't leave his wife with a deadly disease.

Someone noted that basically if it weren't for the sheer dishonesty and incompetence of the Trump administration, the results of these rulings would have gone his way. So we're kind of lucky (and this underscores how bloody important it is to get him out of office).

Gingrich has the single greatest meme in United States political history.

Conservative Family Values: When you get your children from your first wife to convince everyone that your second wife is lying about the affair you had with your third wife.

Fuck these assholes.
