Chelsea have given Madueke a 7.5 Yr contract aswell. What's the benefit?

Amortization. As well as protecting the value of the asset.

Of course, the downside is if they don't work out and Chelsea are lumbered with undoubtedly massive wage bills.

And what about when all their megastars come back from injury?

Potter will have his work cut out.

Quite surprised they're not just being relegated, but if that's this season they're gonna have to get their skates on to reach the CL next year.

Let the meltdown commence! (Looks at Soylent) :P

Liverpool are ready to give Roberto Firmino a new contract, and Klopp has hinted that the "incredibly valuable" James Milner may extend

Translation:

Liverpool won't have the necessary funds to sign Bellingham, thus Milner will play into his forties.

Firmino. Klopp is avid reader of this forum and gets a rise out of Soylent's breakdown. From a sporting perspective Soylent is right tho, the extension makes little sense given the sheer amount of forwards Liverpool have. Also it will clog the pathway for talents like Gordon into the first team.

Anyway, soylent look on the bright side, at least they haven't talked about extending with Ox and Keita, yet.

No thanks. I’m good with Jesus and Eddie. Just think if he wanted to come to us, he would have last year and I’d rather spend the money brining in a winger and beefing up midfield.

With Spurs getting themselves embroiled in the Juventus scandal (since their DoF has received a ban which might yet extend to all FIFA activities) and Kulusevski still technically only on loan and a known Arsenal fan, maybe you can hijack that deal. :P

Dani Alves being transported to prison after judge ordered pre-trial detention without bail. Alves is accused of raping a 23-year-old woman in the bathroom of a nightclub on 30 December.

Apparently, it was an attempted rape (he groped the woman and tried to force himself), but it was of course still pretty awful. Brazilian media reported that after previously saying he didn't even see her, he told the court it was consensual and the judge, not being an idiot, arrested him on the spot.

According to this article, the woman alleges that Alves assaulted and raped her in the bathroom. The article also claims that the victim's medical report says that her injuries indicate a struggle and are consistent with her statement.

Mudryk looked lively. Helped that he was initially up against Milner who can't run anymore though.

Cucurella had a better defensive performance today than he has had for a while - pocketed Salah.

Draw doesn't really help either side but is a great result for all the other top 4 chasing sides.

Didn't see the first match, and according to The Guardian Live Reporting I was quite right to do so:

Quote

FULL TIME: Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

A third goalless draw in a row between these teams. There’s not a lot to write home about. A mid-table non-event.

Bournemouth bought Dango Ouatarra, missed that. Glad to see him in the league, he's one of my favourite prospects around at the moment.

Assist within half an hour. Nice.

Also Mitoma's goal against Leicester was filthy.
