Maltaran
GRRM has been announced as Guest of Honour for Archipelacon next June in the Aland Islands. There's already been Facebook discussion about a BwB presence, so I thought I'd start a thread for interested parties, since I suspect a lot of Euros won't be going to Spokane. This looks like it will be a very different sort of con from what we're used to. Xray the Enforcer
Mr. X and I are seriously considering this. Money and time off will be a factor, but gonna make a best effort on it.

Gus
Very interesting. I've heard of the con before as a very small event. I guess that not the case next year. I will most likely attend.
Targh
I'm tempted as I doubt I'll be doing any other expensive trips next year. edit: I just put my money where my mouth is and bought a full membership.
Ran
Linda and I purchased our memberships this morning. It's too far out for us to be 100% on going, but figured it was best to get in while the getting is good... Not least because there's talk that they may have to cap the memberships. Looking at their venue, their largest space sits 600 people, so from that and from the buzz I heard it may be end up limited to about that number, give or take. On Sunday evening we were told they had just over 100 members signed up, so if they do cap it, there's awhile yet.
Adz of CCAA
I got a full membership for this in London. :)
theMountainGoat
I bought my membership at Loncon as well. I heard that membership will be limited to 500 so anyone that wants to go should buy early because I think this will sell out fairly fast.

Darian Frey
After much brow-beating, threats, tears and cessation of bedtime activities, I have purchased 2 tickets to this event, so Lyanna and I will be attending, babysitter permitting. Of course, I'm only going on the off-chance that Ser Sean and Chaldanya try to make good on their threat to abscond the Mrs and induct her into a life of sister wifery. Whatever that is. If it was any other woman, that might be something worth watching but alas, the thought of being left alone with these two anklebiters is more chance than I'm willing to risk. Sini
Hi! I'm happy to see a lot of people interested in our (not-so-)little(-now) con! If you have questions, I try to answer them on behalf of the committee. Archipelacon 2015 is the first one we are organizing in this format. We have previously had very small cons in Åland Islands (Åcons), under 100 members. Last summer we visited the Ålandica culture centre and immediately wanted to organize a con there. We are a group of people from Finland, Åland, Sweden, Norway and German, who have been active in organizing several Finncons, Swecons, comics related cons and some smaller cons in Finland and Sweden, so we do have a lot of experience, even this being the first Archipelacon. Yes, the biggest hall in Ålandica only has 600 seats, so we may have to cap the amount of memberships, but at the moment (after announcing GRRM) we now have 250 members, so there is still a lot of room. So no decisions about that have yet been made. It maybe a smaller con that most of you have used to, but I hope it will be an advantage. At least the signing lines will probably be shorter! Looking forward to seeing many of you in Åland Islands next summer!
