  1. Past hour
  2. Comparing Six Feet Under to Prison Break is insulting to the former. I've recently rewatched the whole five seasons and it's still great, with still the greatest finale of all time.
  3. Today
  4. Even if I did, the amount of time it took me to write would soon get me fired :')
  5. Well that quick read sucked the joy out of things. Still can't believe how many kids Rodman's dad had with that many women. And his fucking name is literally Philander Rodman. Great comedians couldn't make that shit up.
  6. I think this is but of a sideshow at this point, but the Epstein shit is wild.
  7. Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July despite Congress gifting us a big, fat, ugly turd the night before.
  8. Cardio doesn't seem to be an issue. Look at all those babies he's making. Larry Johnson should be embarrassed by the Ant Man's work.
  9. I get season five, but I’ve really grown to love season six. What’s not to like? No mustache Sam Elliott, Mary Steenburgen, Raylan and Boyd taking it to the limit, Garrett Dillahunt, Jeff Fahey, Mikey’s code, CHOO-CHOO?!?
  10. Myself and my husband are interested in attending the dinner !
  11. Just finished series five. The transition from Mark and Nish’s song in the finale to “Rosalind is a fucking nightmare” was amazing. Loved the entire cast in this one. All insane in different ways.
  12. This kind of rumormongering around Xi has been ever present for many, many years and long before covid. It never amounts to anything. It would of course be very interesting if any of this bears out but a CMP article a few weeks back suggests it is most likely business as usual: Is Xi's Grip Holding? - China Media Project
  13. Mare of Easttown was absolutely excellent! I think it's the best show I've seen in the last couple of years though my watched list is short these days. Kate Winslet knocked it out of the park in her role which was to be expected. The tone and twists made me think of this as a season of True Detective minus the existential philosophy and dialogue. In fact, I'm starting True Detective: Night Country next just to compare the two.
  14. To put this into contrast, the US just recently diverted 20,000 interceptors specially designed to shoot down shaheed drones from Ukraine to Israel. These had been allocated by the pentagon and funded by congress last year.
  15. This popped up on my youtube feed and although I didn't initially give it much credibility I did watch enough that I started to find it quite convincing. I checked a few things that are publicly confirmed and found plenty of other rumors flying around also that give it some weight. What it is saying, amongst other things, is Zhang Youxia, who is the vice chairman of the military commission, has for the last couple of months been quietly removing Xi loyalists in the military and more or less removed Xi from power keeping him there as a figurehead for now. There is a new regulatory body formed above him that reduces his power although this has been sold publicly as him delegating more day to day activities. Xi has also missed the BRICS conference for the first time ever, instead China is represented by Li Qiang. I'm not completely convinced but Xi's political power has diminished greatly since the covid lockdowns and if there is any truth to this it is a major global event that will break in the next few months. I have no idea what Zhang Youxia has planned or what his political views are so if true this could be good or bad.
  16. Clubs have a tendency of buying players without money. Specially associative clubs, since the president isn't using his own money
  17. They'll be able to afford a lot more if they lose the midterms.
  18. This is Trump. He may do it, and 80% of Republicans will go along with it, because they cannot afford to lose the midterms.
  19. I just had a consultation with a board-certified veterinary surgeon and board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist, today. They are coordinating with my veterinary internist. Can we say...money, flying away? Mr. Spice E. Wiceums is a cat with complex medical issues: 1. Feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and potentially might be getting to congestive heart failure (his last echo wasn't great). Beta blocker twice a day; 2. Hyperthyroid, well controlled with methimazole; 3. Inflammatory bowel disease, well controlled with Budesonide (also gets a B-12 supplement injection once a week); 4. Chronic kidney disease (not significant, he is well-hydrated, drinks a half cup of warm water out of a coffee mug every morning when we have our "morning coffee"); 4. Chronic pancreatitis; and a 5. A 3 cm gallstone. The gallstone is likely contributing to the chronic pancreatitis. It's a f----ing HUGE gallstone, for a cat, and cats rarely get gallstones (the average gallstone if present, is less than 1 cm in cats, and this one grew over 4 months, per ultrasound measurements). The consult, today, was to discuss the surgical removal of said gallstone, and if it was even a possibility, given the heart condition. The anesthesiologist gave an opinion in a worst case, Spice would have a 30% chance of dying on the table, with a 60% chance of dying on the table if the gallstone became actively obstructive and Spice became jaundiced and symtomatic. Apparently, humans and dogs get gallstones, cats really don't; hence, the literature is pretty thin, and most mortality rates are probably given by the truly emergency surgery (but probably uncomplicated by the other conditions listed above). It's $2k each time he gets the echo, ultrasound, and bloodwork (including the fPLI panel sent off to Texas A&M lab), 4 months apart, and I have no idea how much they will want for surgery. Next set of echo/ultrasound/bloodwork is Monday, and we will be more informed on a surgical decision, then. They won't do the surgery if he has progressed to heart failure, then we will have a different set of decisions, but QoL is still currently excellent (come on, how many of your cats enjoy "morning coffee"?).
  20. he has no authority to do that in NY. DC, Congress could - it could do a lot. if he tries something in NY that would be a pretty large constitutional crisis. Whee, let's go ahead and have a 10th amendment crisis. Let's make America antebellum again.
  21. Oh he's got policy. https://www.axios.com/2025/07/08/elon-musk-grok-x-twitter-hitler-posts
